Omoni Oboli Spends 40th Birthday With Less Privileged Kids + Launches Feeding Outreach
Actress Omoni Oboli who turned 40 yesterday April 22nd spent her day with the children of Makoko by launching her feeding outreach tagged Sister Lizzy’s Kitchen.
Sister Lizzy’s Kitchen is an Omoni Oboli Foundation initiative that aims to feed 500 children every week.

This is good. However more people should join and institutionalize soup kitchens and shelters especially churches. No child should go to bed hungry. As for the Sara part, God sees the heart. In the 90s I used to wine and dine with professional colleagues at the Sheraton but it always bothered me where the left over went as I had a burden in my heart to start a soup kitchen. I spoke to a staffer there and asked if I could get drivers to pick up the rest of the food in the chafing dishes (not really left overs) at Sheraton, Federal Palece, Eko hotel and set up a central location where underprivileged children could eat will they allow me? He said" madam they will just assume you are selling it". Up till today, if and when God blesses me, I intend to set up a permanent shelter with one of the numerous abandoned warehouses, put double bunks and mattresses and showers/toilet and do what is on my heart. There is NO town here without a shelter and soup kitchen/food pantry unless you don't want to take advantage of it or your income level is enough for your household. We need this on a permanent basis, like 10 in Lagos and like 5 in every major city. I wish the churches will start it and encourage others to join after all the whole tithing passage basis is that there may be food in the house. People gift them in their wills and grocers and bakeries like Panera, Starbucks, Walmart, etc donate grocery that is soon to expire and in case of Panera, they don't sell the previous day's food. When will the rich in Nigeria start doing this? Interestingly I met a white American woman in the south who attended hillcrest Jos way back when her dad worked for Sudan Interior Mission who also has a burden for that in Nigeria. Rich folks can donate bags of rice, good cooks can donate their skills and time etc Let's see how we can carry each other. Good start Omoni and those like her doing the little they can!
ReplyDeleteplease just leave churches out of your stories already....every tom dick and harry blaming churches and expecting them to save the whole of humanity. do you know how much work some churches are doing? feeding ,clothing, orphanages etc.....
