Woman Arrested For Fatally Beating Alleged Grand Daughter And Dumping The Body In The Bush

Udeogu Chinelo, a 37-yr-old woman, arrested by operatives of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Anambra State command, has claimed that the three-year-old she beat to death and dumped in a bush was her granddaughter.

The suspect was apprehended at a Primary School in Awka, where she had gone to take back the school fees she paid for the deceased.

Spokesperson of NAPTIP in the state, Okafor Anthony, in a statement on Thursday, October 6, said:
“While being questioned on the whereabout of the victim, she disclosed that the victim had died. The suspect led the operatives of NAPTIP to the scene where she disposed the body of the victim.

On arriving the scene the victim’s decomposing body was found wrapped in a black nylon bag where the suspect dumped her in the bush around Hezekiah Dike Crescent Awka.

The suspect claimed that the deceased victim is her granddaughter. The victim was reported to have died on the 29th September, 2022.”

Chinelo claimed she assaulted the deceased some days ago and left marks on her body because she defecated in a bucket they used in having their bath at home.
She added that the deceased is her grandchild born by her 19-year-old daughter. She said her daughter abandoned the baby with her shortly after she was born.

  10. I don’t want to mention tribe but this maid maltreatment is so common amongst them. What kind of evil is this? How dyu beat someone to the extent that she has marks, talk more of killing the person.

Enjoy spending several years in jail. Witch!

    1. Eka, feel free nne, na igbos, and I am one. I grew up in onitsha, most maids are treated like animals.
Infact these women transfer anger of frustration coming from the neglect they get in their marriages to these innocent children from poor homes. Though this case is more like unwanted grandchild but yet they should have given her up for adoption than maltreatment her. She didn't beg to be born.
Igbo women deal with maids , from chores that are mightier than them, to beatings. Hardly they go good school mostly afternoon school with no textbook, pen, pencil. Uniform, worn out, sandals, hmmm, and nylons as school bags. How a woman treats her own children well and maltreats another woman child mercilessly because of class is what I don't understand.

    2. You seem right, Eka. I have been wondering why this is common among certain people, I'm not excusing other tribes, it happens everywhere in Nigeria, is it that such cases are underreported when it involves other tribes? If NAPTIP functions as expected, research should have been done on why this is on increase among certain set of women and even the age range is alarming.
This research will even help some people pronouncing judgement on Chinelo because if

    3. *if the course of this harsh reaction is not well studied, more murders are out there.
There's a need to study the behavioral cause and why this is rampant.
My sister complains about her so-called educated married classmates that comes to class with young girls as a caregiver to carter for their kid and the maids look maltreated.
Is this a case of expressing one power over the weak because some of them can not even stand to talk to their husband

    4. Eka don't be afraid next time to type what you wanted to.
It's not about tribe. It's about Anambra state.

Many of these abuse is done by Anambra women, why? The husband decided to look away while the abuse was ongoing. The day they start jailing the husband along with the wife who commits such atrocity, this will stop.
BTW... they're mostly Catholic women, wearing the scapula on their necks. The question is,is that a charm or a religious guard? They are controlled by something from somewhere, don't know but they know it.

      FYI...
      I'm from Anambra state too.
      Thanks.

  15. Ah tor, there is a clear case of pent up anger and hatred in these women, probably transferred aggression from a terrible marriage.
So the so called 'man of the house' will say he did not see the wounds and blisters all over this girl? His own is when is food ready and when is knack ready ba?
He did not see her perenislly shouting and beating this girl?
By the time they start imprisoning these men along with these useless women, they will start paying attention to what's happening right under their noses.
She should get the death sentence.
And the husband as accomplice, life in imprisonment.

She defecated in a bucket meant for bathing?
You see that little girl, either she sleeps in the kitchen or they don't allow her use the family toilets.

Some men of the house are also victims of the women of the house. But shame ...

    5. Someone commits a crime. Yet, you are trying to absolve her of the blame by heaping the blame on a man.

You women never like to take the blame for anything. You will ALWAYS find a way to make it another "mans" issue.

The woman killed alone. What has the man got to do with it?

  21. A 37 year old woman already has an abandoned grandchild. Apparently, she had her daughter when she wasn't ready to be a mother and clearly wasn't ready to be a grandmum too. She already saw history repeating itself hence, the pent up anger, hatred, frustration and crazy.
A child will always act like a child but she was too angry to give any excuses for the poor baby, she has no love left in her soul.
I feel sad for her though, suffering isn't anybody's mate.
May God heal her of hatred and anger.
