Chris Martin, the lead singer of famous British band, Coldplay, has predicted that Nigerian singer, Ayra Starr, will soon become “the world’s biggest pop star”.
He made the prediction while bringing the Afrobeats star on stage at the band’s Music Of All Spheres tour at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami recently.
“This is Ayra Starr from Nigeria. She is going to be the world’s biggest pop-star so soon,”
Ayra Starr performed her collaborative hit with Coldplay ‘Good Feelings’ and her new song, ‘Hot Body’ at the concert which was attended by Inter Miami star, Lionel Messi and his wife, Antonela.

ReplyDeleteNah, she won't. She's dark skin, not sexy enough. She doesn't fit the image the labels and american music producers push out of there. I like her but she will have a few years of moderate fame, mainly in Nigeria then she will fade away. I really don't think we will have other global black superstars like Beyonce, Rihanna or for rap Nicki Minaj, very soon and definitely she won't be from Africa. Even the one that came out with the song Water, after the initial clamour is now fading away. Like NeYo ( I don't agree with his lifestyle but he knows the industry)once said, you have to be fair skinned looking biracial, sexy body and ruthless PR if you want to become a global superstar. Sadly, that's the truth.
