10 THINGS TO NOTE IF YOU MUST LIVE WITH YOUR SIBLING AND THEIR SPOUSE

1. Respect their privacy because you are a guest, not a co owner of the home. They need not consult you or seek your opinion before making decision, so if they share the decision with you without initially seeking your opinion, don't feel bad.

And don't start feeding poor thoughts in your sibling's head. "Hmm, this one she did not wash these plates before going to bed, is that how you people do here?" Etc. Mind your tongue!

2. Help with chores without being asked as it shows gratitude and maturity. Even if you are older than your sibling's spouse, assist in the house as much as you can.
Plus don't enter the kitchen to dish food without first asking the person who prepared it. If you like go and carry 3 pieces of meat. If they send you back to the village, you will be screaming, "na man you be, you no be God." (This dont enter the kitchen to dish food is a Naija mentality please)

3. Never get involved in their marital issues or take sides in arguments. This one is very important! If your sibling is emotional, he or she will try to tell you things so you can support their point of view. Their spouse may want to use gifts to win you over as well.
Just ignore them. If possible, fake a sickness or serious personal issue so you won't interfere with their own until they settle. Because most times if you attempt to get involved and side one person, they will settle and send you back to the village!

4. Always ask before inviting guests over, no matter how close they are to you. And if they say no, respect their decision and don't start murmuring around the house.

5. If you notice a bad habit your sibling exhibits
often, talk to them about it and if they refuse to change, leave it there. If their spouse is okay with it, let them be.
Don't go about town calling every aunt or uncle or even your parents to tell them about it, unless it is something that could pose a serious risk in the future.

6. Avoid acting entitled.
Humility keeps the peace. Even if your sibling is the provider in the home and their spouse came from a poor background, be respectful.
"I know how I told my brother to marry you when he wanted to change his mind. We have brought you to the city and cleaned you. Now you can talk to me anyhow." Kaikai behaviour!

7. Dress modestly around the house
, especially if you're the opposite sex of your in law. I will not repeat this one. If you have home wears that shows some pointed parts of your body, do well to wear something under before you start walking around the house or doing chores.

8. Keep your room and shared spaces clean at all times. If you like leave your wig in their parlour and your shoe in the kitchen.

9. Manage your noise level
, don’t disturb the peace of the home with loud music or loud prayers at night if you do vigil with power wey dey pamper.

10. Always express gratitude for their hospitality,
appreciation goes a long way. I have said it before and I am repeating it again. Gratitude is always key!

IT IS NOT ALWAYS THE MANS FAULT

Women , Let’s Be Honest With Ourselves
Not every broken relationship or failed marriage is entirely the men’s fault.
Sometimes, we need to pause, breathe, and admit:
“I played a part in this too.” “It’s my fault too.”

Was it our:
Sharp tongue during arguments?
Cold silence when he needed love?
Constant need to be “right”?
Little lies we thought didn’t matter?
Feminism that turned into control, not equality?
Stubbornness dressed up as independence?

We cry “toxic” and paint the whole picture with his mistakes But what about our attitudes? Our ego?
Our refusal to listen? Our disrespect?
I think It’s time we normalize accountability, not just healing.
It’s time to stop the trend of blaming men every time a relationship or marriage ends.

Dear women, you’re strong. You’re beautiful.
But you’re not perfect none of us are.
“You can be wrong too.” Not him all the time
Accept your wrongs ,
Apologize for your mistakes ,
And move on.
Copied

If you are a woman and you disagree with this, then something dey do you...

  8. That piece on ''It's not always the man's fault'' is profound. It hit the nail on the head. Only the reasonable ones here will agree with that.

Agreeable, we have bad men out there but the bad women out there are terrible. When they push you to react and when you do, they form the victim.

If only men will begin to voice out the treatment some of the women dish out to them, this stereotype and wrong narrative on innocent men won't be accepted hook line and sinker.

    Good afternoon mutuals.
