Instead, passengers are now required to completely switch off their mobile phones and electronic devices during these critical phases of flight.
According to Capt. Chris Najomo, Director General of NCAA
“There’s nothing like flight mode any longer. Must be switched off.”

I think it's the best decision, call Ur family and friends before entering the plane and do the same when u have gotten to Ur destination. That's if the passenger will comply.
ReplyDeleteNo they will not. Most ppl u see around are indisciplined
DeleteNoted
ReplyDeleteOther countries will take several steps forward, Nigeria will take 100 steps backwards. Na wa
ReplyDeleteYes that is because the citizens of the ‘other countries’ are civilized in every sense of the word. But Nigerians must be forced to do the right thing, this will forever be the result of our indiscipline. I’m very sure the way you behave and respect urself is not the same way you behave when in naija.
Delete15.48, you dey write epistle give her for only a few lines she wrote? You need to check for HBP dear, this isnt normal.
DeleteAnon my last experience was a Spanish dude n this dude is rich n well travelled his phone was turned on through the flight im not saying inbound wifi o
DeleteThese things happen everywhere.
Ummm...Flight mode exists primarily to stop phone signals from interfering with the sensitive electronics of the aircraft. That's literally why phones have them! Banning flight mode is a solution in search of a problem. Modern aircraft are even less susceptible to phone signals.
ReplyDeleteI can understand why the NCAA will go this extreme though. Getting folks in these paths to comply with simple instructions can be a hell of a challenge. So the generality of the people now have to suffer for the intransigence of a few.
🤣🤣🤣 We never start for this kwantry
DeleteDog, if you fly frequently u would understand why the country has to take this drastic measure. Even to get them to put it on the ‘flight mode’ na war. Adults oo, but they will not comply for less than one hour flight, and they are the bulk of the fliers. The ones that voluntarily comply are very few on every flight i have flown.
Delete15:51, very common with yahoo boys onboard any flight. Lousy fellows
DeleteNa who dash monkey banana . Modern aircraft for inside air peace. You better switch your phone off. Its only an hour
DeleteIt's almost impossible to enforce compliance. They cannot go from row to row demanding that passengers show them their phones.
ReplyDeleteAlso remember that phones can be put on airplane mode during the course of the flight itself. This rule ONLY applies just before take-off and during landing.
Well, know thee that there are tracking devices for picking radio waves and satellite waves when they move up and down the aisles.
DeletePlease just comply.
Thanks.

Smh 🤦♀️
ReplyDeleteComfort, you do this one
ReplyDeleteWhy are they treating everyone as school children. Flight mode exist for a reason. Now people can’t just watch recorded videos on their phones in peace. I understand some folks are difficult but there has to be a way to navigate it rather than a blanket rule
ReplyDeleteI don't get it so why is there flight mode....
DeleteBecause most Nigerian adults behave like school children who find it hard to comply to simple instructions. Put phone on air plane mode, na war. Don’t stand up till the plane has stopped completely, mbanu. Remain in ur seats, let the ones in ur front disembark, let’s do it row by row, no ways! As soon as the plane hits the ground they are alrdy scrambling off their seats to pick up their luggage which in the end creates chaos gor everyone disembarking the plane. So why won’t the govt treat all of us like sch kids?? Our major prblm in this part of the world is indiscipline and most ppl don’t behave like this when flying international.
DeleteI hope they comply
