Nonsense talk from Patrick. Femi Otedola gave out his daughter in marriage. He invited his friends and those that matter to him at this stage of his life. Yes they are rich and accomplished and may appear sophisticated to you. Davido on the other hand, not his father and not Chioma’s father, a hard working and accomplished musician also invited those that matter to him at this stage of his life. They are young and rising and fun loving. They may appear brash to you but you can’t take away from their accomplishments. Both weddings were good. Each man expressed himself according to his stage in life. Both men are happy. Let us be happy for them.

DeleteImagine Patrick Doyle with his untidy/unkempt appearance and protruding tummy calling Davido’s wedding as "gaudy". 🤦🏾♀️
Some women can marry anything, though. 🤮
God Bless you 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Delete@Anon 12:39, best analysis thus far.I love your thought process!!!

DeleteDavid and Eazi
ReplyDeleteHmmm... This feels like a back handed compliment
ReplyDeleteVery
DeleteReally cannot comprehend how the way someone chooses to celebrate becomes a problem to another. Oga Doyle is toooo old engaging in this kind of shiiiii.
ReplyDeleteMake una look at the bigger picture and context of all he said.
ReplyDeleteHe said Nigerians can DO.
Is this man really a pastor?
ReplyDeleteI find Davido loud and brash but I respect him as a musician and entrepreneur. While many think the other wedding was classy, it was simply a copy cat playbook and an attempt to ape the aesthetics of white upperclass weddings, so they could be featured in Vogue. Both Davido and the girl come from families that have done much harm to Nigeria but sadly they are both praised for spending money lavishly. I am disgusted.
ReplyDeleteyour last sentence is me every day on nigerian social media
DeletePatrick Doyle does not need to analyze Nigeria’s situation by comparing it with other people’s weddings. Weddings have nothing to do with the state of the nation, and people have the right to celebrate their special day however they deem fit. Agbaya!
ReplyDeletePatrick Doyle’s life story - marked by love, loss, humility, renewal - stands in stark contrast to the polished moralism of his wedding commentary. It’s one thing to draw metaphors about a nation, but another to ignore your own scars when passing judgment. His marriages reveal a man capable of profound change, emotional honesty, and depth - qualities his post fails to honour in its rigid comparisons.
ReplyDeleteSo myopic of you Mr.
ReplyDeleteUnnecessary comparison. 🙄🙄🙄
