The seven counts include incitement, unlawful importation of equipment, and enforcement of sit-at-home orders in the South-East.
Justice Omotosho ruled that Kanu’s broadcasts on Radio Biafra incited violence and unrest, and that his sit-at-home orders amounted to acts of terrorism.
The court described the evidence as “uncontroverted and compelling.
He is sentenced to life imprisonment for counts 1, 4, 5, and 6 (which could have attracted the death penalty).
He is sentenced to 20 years for count 3 (membership of a proscribed terrorist group).
He is sentenced to 5 years for count 7 (unlawful importation of a radio transmitter).
All sentences are without the option of a fine, and Kanu will be held in protective custody due to security concerns.

Haa!! Omo I am speechless.
ReplyDeleteWhat are you speechless about? One of the nation's terrorists in the net. The others up Norrth would be caught and jailed shortly. Nuisance! The problem of Nigerians is that each ethnicity supports their terrorists kins man - yorubas support igboho, igbos support nnamdi Kanu while the hausa-fulani support book haram. Tueh to all of you
DeleteCan the court get all his supporters too? They should jail them all! Good Radiance! Serves him right! There is nothing wrong with agitation but it crosses the line when you instruct people to kill, miam and Burn!
ReplyDeleteGood for him! The judge should have added with "hard labour" .
ReplyDeleteThe death penalty should have been it. biafraud idiot!
DeleteYes, the court clearly has enough evidence to prosecute and sentence him. Nnamdi Kanu’s conduct did not help his case either, this is not the kind of matter where you dismiss all your lawyers or refuse to open a defence. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what he did. He underestimated both the court and the presiding judge.
ReplyDeleteThe truth is, the court does not operate based on emotions, sentiments, or public sympathy. It works strictly with facts, evidence, and legal procedure, and in this case, the evidence was substantial. We all witnessed the events during the EndSARS period and the consistent “sit-at-home” orders that still affect the Southeast today.
Many people argue that President Tinubu should pardon him, but presidential pardons don’t work that easily. He would need to have served a significant portion of his sentence, and even then, it is not guaranteed, especially under this current administration. A pardon at this stage is highly unlikely.
The best and most realistic step now is for him to hire competent legal representation, exercise his constitutional right to appeal the judgment, and possibly seek a reduction of the life sentence.
At the end of the day, the law is not emotional, it follows facts, evidence, and due process.
Because of their hatred for the cockroach , the mosquitoes eagerly voted for the 🧴 insecticide. But when it came, it spared no one; not the cockroach, not the mosquitoes, and not even the innocent fly who never cast a vote. In the end, hatred made them all choose destruction blindly.
ReplyDeleteNnamdi Kanu is fighting against terrorism, Gumi is begging for the safety of Muslim terrorists.
But guess who was arrested and sentenced for terrorism?
That's his worst he can do but he should also be reminded that natural justice comes from above and everyone will be judged by the creator.

This jobless man, you better join your saviour in jail. Oniro oshi
DeleteTeejay, you are just a pathetic case. Why are you living in PH? Why not move permanently to the SE?
DeleteHe will be pardoned. They want to use him for politics. Mark today.
ReplyDeleteExactly. We knew that already. But the court has set a bad precedence.
Delete© TEEJAY
When will the jail the herdsmen ,Iswap and the bandits for life?
ReplyDeleteSelective justice!!!! God dey
Meanwhile, the real terrorists are walking freely, and some are even being rehabilitated. What exactly is Nnamdi Kanu’s crime?
ReplyDeleteSHAME ON ALL THE IGBO LEADERS!
Y’all can start rejoicing now that the government that released murderous boko haram into the society has sent someone to life imprisonment because of words of mouth!
ReplyDeleteMay God judge them all!
I had to enable your comment to reply you proper...
DeleteWords of mouth that led to several deaths...I lost my childhood friend in this IPOB nonsense.............He was kidnapped in Enugu three years ago by IPOB on one of those forced stay at home.......we are still waiting for him but we know he is gone.......His wife and two kids are still crying every day..i had to block her page on facebook cos it made me cry every time....If you have not lost anything you wont know the pain......The govt should better go after BH and ISWAP and whatever else to balance this ......
Stella you hate Igbos so.much. No matter how you cover it, is glaring. You take.it upon yourself to spread every negative news about the Igbos. . I now see reasons you like Hope Uzodinma. Birds of the same feather.
DeleteI know you will not post this. But at least you have read it. Keep hating.
Pls let’s not start changing stories. Sit at home started as a result of them protesting his arrest. Prior to his arrest, there was no unrest in the East asides the agitation for Biafra. So are you going to punish him for a crime committed by others when he was already incarcerated?
DeleteWe also lost a brother in church to their madness.Till today his aged mother and father cry from one prayer house to the other as they keep assuring them that he's still alive. They've done his burial because it's been years but his parents are yet to move on.
DeleteThey shouldn't do selective justice, they should go after others likes him anywhere they are in the country
Eka, you should be ashamed of yourself. Why dont you relocate to Nigeria/SE with your family and enjoy the killings and terrorist acts of NK and gang.
DeleteIn the coming days, the government will raise a false flag in the South East and pin it on the Igbo as the ones causing the problems in Nigeria. They'll attribute it to the provocations of the judgment.
ReplyDeleteBut then, US are not stupid. They already know the real terrorist. I told someone few weeks ago that the plan will be to convict him and thereafter the President will step in for pardon. All this is in a bid to muzzle him to submission but they don't really understand it.
Knowing fully well the North had already made a bold statement on Tinubu re- election bid, he would want to pacify the South East with an Nnamdi Kanu release. He won't go into the election and expect a favorable results from the South East. These are all games and some of us saw it coming.
Interesting times ahead.

Will you shut your "gutter" and go get busy with work? You didnt go to your phantom work today? Go and replace yourself with Kanu since you love him so much and believe that he is your saviour
Delete@ Eka, I Thank God for you and your family members that you didn't lose anybody to the "because of words of mouth" . If you did, maybe just maybe, your comment will be different. But, he deserves the death penalty!
ReplyDeleteShe is just being sentimental and crying up a storm as usual. Always playing the victim card..Shame! Late Dora Akunyili's husband died as a result of this biafraud nonsense. Enough said!!
Delete@ Eka, I Thank God for you and your family members that you didn't lose anybody to the "because of words of mouth" . If you did, maybe just maybe, your comment will be different. But, he deserves the death penalty!
ReplyDeleteKeep quiet. Unknown gun men mastermind by politicians are the once killing people in igbo.land and not ipop. Don't say what you don't know.
Delete@ Teejay, Southeast didn't vote for Tinubu and believe me, I don't think he is bothered about that! Pls be reminded that part of the main reason why he is still in jail today is because most Igbo elders and people don't want him out! It's good you smell your own anus before condemning others with smelly fecaes!
ReplyDeleteRead Teejays submission again. He didn't say South East voted for Tinubu.
DeleteSave my comment above. Do you want to stake a bet on that? He will be released in the build up of the election. Some of us already know this.
Delete© TEEJAY
This is the worst they can do.. Justice might be delayed. It cannot be denied. When the time comes, the people of the sun will surely be vindicated. No one knows Nnamdi Kanu till the death of Ojukwu. It is just a matter of time.If you silence one. Another springs up.
ReplyDeleteFrom IPOB ,to ISWAP, BOKOHARAM all of them and their leaders should be in jail. Do we want change and a good country or not , then all these nonsense sentiments should be done away with. It doesn't matter whose ox is gored.
ReplyDeleteThe comments here are the reason i avoid posts like this and others....i get drained from the comments not knowing which to delete or leave...cant you guys argue without insults? gosh!!!
