The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has declared Ufoma Immanuel, managing director and chief executive officer of Chappal Energies, wanted. In a public notice issued on Wednesday, the anti-graft agency said Immanuel is wanted for an alleged case of obtaining money by false pretence and forgery.

 Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State says the security situation in the state has significantly improved, declaring that “the worst is over.” Zulum made this known during a meeting with the Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shuaibu, in Maiduguri. He said that compared to the peak of the crisis years ago, the current security landscape, despite recent setbacks, shows significant improvement.

 An early morning fire in Kundila, Tarauni Local Government Area of Kano State, has claimed the lives of four members of the same family. The spokesperson, Kano fire service, Saminu Yusif, who confirmed the development, said based on preliminary investigation, the incident may have originated from a mosquito coil used in the parlour.

Kebbi State House of Assembly has suspended the Chairman of Fakai Local Government Area, Muhammad Mahuta, for alleged gross misconduct and negligence of duty. The decision followed the adoption of the report of the House Special Committee chaired by Salihu Dangoje during plenary on Wednesday in Birnin Kebbi.
