EFCC Arrests Archbishop For Alleged Naira Abuse And Suspected Money Laundering

Operatives of the Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested Archbishop Angel Oyeghe on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, for conspiracy, naira mutilation, and suspected money laundering.


A statement from the commission said the self-acclaimed Archbishop who is the founder of Faith Healing Ministry, Warri, Delta State was arrested following a viral video where several individuals under her supervision were seen spraying naira note on a live cow during a church programme.

The Commission mentioned that it is on the trail of arresting other suspects as their action contravenes the provision of Section 21 of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007.

Archbishop Oyeghe is said to have made useful statements and will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

  2. Nice one. Efcc needs to enter bush and start arresting those terrorists flaunting ransom anyhow too, our Naira must be protected at all costs

  3. Why didn't EFCC arrest Tompolo when he sprayed money in the river during their Egbesu festival some months ago?

    Besides in the video, it wasn't Archbishop Angel Oyeghe that sprayed the money but some boys.
