Today na today!!!!
Today, Thursday November 20, 2025, the Federal High Court in Abuja is set to deliver judgment in Nnamdi Kanu’s terrorism trial
Justice James Omotosho will rule on multiple motions, including Kanu’s challenge to the validity of the terrorism charges and his request for release based on alleged unlawful detention and human rights violations.
Kanu faces seven terrorism related charges, including incitement, operating an unlawful organization, and actions deemed threatening to national security all of which he denies and argues via his team that the terrorism prevention and prohibition act under which he is being tried has been repealed, rendering the charges invalid.
He was granted 6 days to present his defense but he declined and insisted that there there was “no valid charge” against him.
The court interpreted this as a waiver of his right to defense, and foreclosed his case.
He later filed a motion to suspend the judgment, claiming that the proceedings were conducted under a repealed law and in violation of a Supreme Court directive..

ReplyDeleteI agree that some of the charges against him may seem unnecessary, but it’s also true that Nnamdi Kanu often reacts strongly and lets his emotions lead, which can escalate situations. Regardless of the verdict, he still has the legal right to appeal and challenge any decision in court. That’s how due process works, and it’s important that his rights are fully respected.
