DeleteFirstly, you have to understand that cultures differ. She is Arab, and in her culture, a black abaya signifies modesty, sophistication and class.
DeleteSecondly, even oyibo, that u all thrive to copy in terms of dressing, there women say, ‘when in doubt, just wear a black dress’, so what this means is that every woman should have a black dress in her wardrobe, you can neva go wrong wearing one, to a function.
Finally, would you have said what you said, if it was one of ur favourite celebs that wore a black dress to a function? Or are you saying that because it is an abaya? BTW, an abaya is also a dress, just not a ‘western’ one.
