The video captures one of the worker using stencils and paint to manually print the well known LG brand name onto empty cardboard TV cartons. These boxes are meant for television sets sized 45 and 55 inches. Reports from the person who made the video alleges more than 3,000 such cartons were being rebranded in just that location.
This means that they imported low quality TVs without labels and fix the labels themselves locally.....
Naija!!!

DeleteAs someone with a fair bit of knowledge about printing, I can tell you that over 90% of the LG TV in the markets are fake.
ReplyDeleteWhen I felt we needed to change our TV and we went to the market, I noticed that the branding on the LGs we saw were all done here using cheap screen printing techniques not only on the carton but on the body of the TV itself. The whole market was full of these fakes. Not only LG even Hisense.
You can only get original LG from Fouani show rooms. They are the only licensed LG sellers in Nigeria.
Yep, I only do fouani
DeleteExactly! Fouani is LG AND LG is Fouani
DeleteThat's where I bought my washing machine and AC.
DeleteI shall know say if its not furnished brother you are joking brah.

Guy, please stop capping. It’s not that bad. Haba. How can you say over 90% are fake? And who told you that only one person is licensed to sell LG tvs in Naija? Fear God na. There are fake products but definitely no where close to half. When you put on the tv, won’t LG come on the screen?????
DeleteIf the security forces storm the market now and seal off the shops and punish the offenders, they will start claiming victimization by the Lagos state government.
ReplyDeleteNo mind them. Na so dem ndi developers be.

ReplyDeleteNo be small thing o
ReplyDeletePinky, you called it. This is where that ex-friend of yours wife bought her tv.
ReplyDeleteBut why go through all of this? I don’t see why Nigeria cannot manufacture tvs and small appliances.
Manu Wetin you talk?we wey no fit do ordinary matches
DeleteThis has been going on for years now, in all I don't blame my igbo brothers that are importers, SON as an agency has compromised, they have informants that usually give them information on all these substandard goods floating around Nigeria markets.
ReplyDeleteBut then some citizens like cheap stuff, the different in price of 32" LG LED and the fake is very clear for you to know something is wrong, the screen graphics, the volume display on the screen and other icons differ too you need a professional to put you through all these before buying one
People like you are so terrible you should be arrested.
DeleteBecause it is your igbo bothers they have done no wrong, on one hand you blame SON and on the other hand you blame citizens. Your bothers are then blameless Saints. Tueh!!!!
Funny how a person like you will now have the guts to accuse others of being tribal.
What you are saying is like someone saying an armed robber or boko haram is not guilty because the security forces have not arrested them or because some policemen will collect bribes from them to let them go.
And these heartless so-called businessmen hold titles in church and flaunt the proceeds of their heartless and dangerous business.
It is time they should please do this 'akulu ulo" and take all their dangerouis and poisonous business back home to their people
Only one or two agencies of government to tackle an industry that has most adult males in the 3rd largest ethnic group? Those institutions only work in normal societies where entire ethnic groups aren’t faking consumer goods en masse.
DeleteHow many staff will go after all the Igbo traders who brag on blood money they made from thriving in chaos and dysfunction but are the quickest to gaslight other Nigerians that they somehow want a “competent” president? A competent candidate that supports fake drugs sellers against the NAFDAC? I always wish the SE will leave for their own country because they and the Fulanis are the major causes of the chaos and dysfunction in Nigeria. How many fake drugs sellers, faje drinks, fake TV sellers, fake Appliance and cable sellers is it possible to arrest? After importing and selling substandard electrical appliances that create fires and burns buildings they pretend they really want good governance when in reality they just want their kinsman who will protect their faking empires. 🚶🏿♀️🚶🏿♀️
My brother did this nearly 2 decades ago with tiger generator. Its not a good thing to do although he paid my schoolfees from there
ReplyDeleteI don’t know why your comment made me laugh. So, your education is bogus?🤣
DeleteWicked and greedy souls 😠😠😠
ReplyDeleteBest to buy from accredited sellers! I only trust f*u*ni. Always check the model number too.
ReplyDeleteThey aren't different from our politicians
ReplyDeleteEven worse because of the fake drugs and fake foods that kill innocent people
DeleteYet government is responsible for all our problems. These are the same people that will shout the loudest that Nigeria is a zoo
ReplyDeleteThanks you for this.
