ReplyDeleteIf the parent must advertise for a wife how will the young man function as a husband if he doesn’t even have an awareness of such a role. Parents of special needs children need to stop forcing their desires on their children when they lack the capacity to fulfill those expectations. There are many high functioning autistic adults who are able to function in a marriage and be a good parent. This young man does not appear to be one of these adults, his father has to be leading him or holding on to him to secure him. How will he function in a marriage if he cannot even lead himself step by step to the destination? Instead of seeking a wife, ensure he has the necessary life skills so that when you and your wife have departed the earth he will be able to take care of himself. Does he know how to make himself a meal, use a stove and other appliances, do laundry, go grocery shopping, use a bank machine, make a doctor’s appointment, clean up his environment, take care of his hygiene and dress himself, pay bills, understand money? Teaching him life skills so that he can function in the world is 1000% more beneficial to his safety and well-being than being married to someone who may not even love him and just see an opportunity to exploit him financially. Teach him how to survive and function?
