Legendary Afrobeat Singer Fela Kuti To Be Inducted Into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

Legendary Nigerian Afrobeat singer Fela Anikulapo‑Kuti has officially made global history as the first African artist ever inducted into the prestigious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Fela, the pioneer of Afrobeat and one of the most influential musicians to come out of Africa, will be honoured in the Early Influence category , a space reserved for artists whose sound shaped the foundation of modern music.

He will be celebrated alongside other cultural trailblazers such as Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, Gram Parsons, and Cuban icon Celia Cruz.

The announcement dropped on Monday night in the US during an episode of American Idol.
