    One of the things all disciples of Jesus learnt by observation was how to handle a storm.

    No matter how difficult our storms may be, no matter how frequent and persistent it may seem, there is no storm that cannot be handled by the TONGUE and THOUGHT.

    OUR STORMS ARE ONLY AS POWERFUL AND DESTRUCTIVE AS WHAT WE THINK OR SAY ABOUT THEM._

    For one person, ordinary malaria can be a BIG destructive storm; while a terminal cancer is just but a passing phase for another. What is the difference? The attitude and the reaction of the person in the storm.

    Some people commit suicide or murder over a broken relationship, another person quickly moves on into a better relationship, putting the past permanently behind. The strength comes from how they talk about the events and how they see it.

    Paul was a man that went through “HELL” . 2 Cor 11

    “In deaths often” – Only God knows how many times Paul was resurrected from the dead. In Lystra he was stoned to death and dragged out of the city. The same treatment that Stephen had received. Paul got up. (Acts 14:19-28)

    At one time after a shipwreck he was bitten by a snake! Yet how does Paul describe these storms? He calls it LIGHT AFFLICTION.

    Light? You call being stoned to death light? You call being left on the open sea for a whole night and day light?

    After going through all these, Paul was in prison when he wrote to the Philippians – REJOICE, AGAIN I SAY REJOICE! (Phil 4:4)

    He called the scars of beatings, attacks from armed robbers, stonings etc – the marks of Christ, not the marks of the devil! Imagine his mindset!.

    Never forget:- The power of a storm does not lie in the destruction it brings. The power of a storm only lies in the tongue and what a person sees while in the storm. If you call your storm Peace, that storm is peace. If you call it promotion, that storm is promotion. If you call it good health that is what it is.

    Let's go ahead and rename our storms. Call it blessing. Call it the door to your wealthy place. Call it the steps to your throne. I call mine blessings, because i am coming out of it bigger and better with the help of God.
