Chronicle Of Blog Visitor Narrative

Hmmmm....

STAND ALONE NARRATIVE
ABOUT TO QUIT

Hello SDK. Thanks for all you do.
I will go straight to the point, as I need your advice and that of SDkers. I’m a lady in my late 20s.
After my NYSC (2023), I’ve been doing remote jobs and also working occasionally as a shopper for homes. I was an admin, and my salary was 200k.
I worked from home mostly and had time to do my PGD, hoping to proceed to my master’s.
I just got a job and pay is half a million monthly.
I was so elated when I got it; the prestige of telling people I work in the organization felt amazing.
However… The job involves a lot of physical lifting and mental effort, a rigid 8–5 schedule. Since I started the job two months ago, I’ve been falling sick and feeling depressed. I don’t know what to do.

Let me add that there’s no time to do my master’s or anything else (they are very strict with attendance). I’m anaemic and require loads of rest that I don’t seem to get. I’m courting the idea of resigning.
I dread going to work these days. I’ve spent a lot on medicines and supplements. What do I do?

What to do???? Weigh your options very well...See if you can get another Job on the job and if it is non negotiable, then plese resign and return to the old Job.
Your health is non negotiable as well and if this Job is taking from you then you need to let it go...MONEY NO BE EVERYTHING!
Dont die trying to make it or get rich, cos its others that will share your money and stuff once you Kpai.

  1. If you’re anemic you will have to leave that job. Perhaps you could approach HR first to see if they will place you in a less strenuous division of the org. If there is no possibility of a relocation you must walk away for your health. The world is full of money, there is as much money in the world as there are grains of sand on the beach. Don’t die for anything that’s so common.

  2. Please don’t ignore your health. A good job should not constantly leave you sick, exhausted and depressed. Since you’re anaemic and already struggling after just two months, your body may be telling you this environment is not suitable for you.
No job is worth sacrificing your health and peace of mind for. If you can go back to your former job please do.

  5. HEALTH is WELATH. Na who dey alife dey enjoy money wey in work for. Considering your health, I'll advise you resign and continue with your remote job, so that you'll have the time to further your education as you so desire.

  8. Maybe we can exchange o. I am an admin in my organization and the office is a walkable distance to where I live but the salary is so poor 140k monthly. The job isnt stressful at all because I have all the time to rest and take a nap while at work but I want more to be able to meet extended needs though this can comfortably meet my personal needs as my rent is just 250k yearly and I am not a foodie. I want to be able to meet needs of other family members also.

  9. Whatever amount that will cost you your peace of mind or your health on the long run;is not worth having..

Your health as explained above requires you getting a job which will require you using more of your brain to get a task done;than your physical strength.jobs that require you sitting on a desk like Tech jobs, remote jobs etc.

Do your remote job and keep upgrading your skills to earn more, there are people who that 500k manpower job is meant for;and they would happily do it everyday;doesn't mean you are better than them or that they are better than you;its just division of labour...and as my people say "ekere órù eke".

    Wishing you all the best.

  10. Your health should come first. A job that leaves you constantly sick, depressed, and exhausted after just two months is a serious concern, especially with anaemia. The salary and prestige are nice, but no job is worth damaging your health or stopping your long-term goals. Don’t resign impulsively, but start looking for roles that better fit your health and career path. If possible, see a doctor and assess whether the workload is medically safe for you. Sometimes peace of mind, good health, and growth matter more than a big salary.

  13. You need to find the underlying cause of your anemia too and treat it if possible. Money is good as long as it doesn't take your life . All the best dear

  14. Resign. Look for another job, preferably the one that will afford you the time for higher education. All the best. Remember that if you die, the whole money won't meant anything.

    1. Don’t resign
Just take it one day at a time
Take a vacation if you need
      Rest and take good lunches
If they start complaining, then reassess
Even ask them to let you come at 9am
They’ve not fired you so why leave the job

  18. Last year, I worked somewhere that was draining me. I couldn't leave because I needed the money badly. Something happened in my office and they laid some of us off. A part of me was very excited. That job was after my life, but another part of me was so happy. Got a better job two months after. My point is, if it's draining you, please let it go

  19. Stella your last paragraph is what everyone should have in my mind

  20. You just need to readjust your schedule.
Some days call in sick at work if you can.
    Maximize your leave period.
Prioritize your health coz Godforbid anything happens to you, they’ll find a replacement by the next day.

Meanwhile please how do you get remote jobs.
I see some online but I’m afraid of being scammed.
    Thank you.
