Motivated by this issue, and the skills he acquired from UK education, Barrister Rockson Igelige took (always takes ) action to defend creators from exploitation and He significantly improved the situation by supporting artists in copyright cases.

Recently, he achieved a notable victory by securing ₦210 million in damages for musician Veno Marioghae Mbanefo in a copyright case against Airtel Nigeria Limited.
This ruling represents an important step for telecom companies, content creators, and the music sector, strengthening the enforcement of intellectual property laws and compensations.
It is seen as a major success, proving that big corporations can be held responsible for unauthorized use of creative work.
For his persistent efforts against copyright infringement, Igelige was named Nigeria's Entertainment Lawyer of the Year (2019) and recognized globally by Who’s Who Legal (2022) as a leading copyright lawyer.
He co-founded the Friends of the Creators Artistic Foundation (FCF), which won "Best Intellectual Property Foundation" in 2018. Through FCF, he has mentored over 5,000 individuals and legal professionals, creating a lasting system to protect Nigeria's creative industry.
In 2022, he was a finalist in the Nigeria UK Alumni Award for Social Action. On the whole, Igelige has made almost 400 million Naira for the victims of copyright infringement in Nigeria.
