One suspect is Pa John Ofiel, an 83 year old man arrested on April 28, 2026, in Aba, Abia State. NDLEA officers recovered 700 grams of skunk (a strong type of cannabis) packed in small sachets from him.
He told investigators he used to work as a shoemaker before entering the drug trade.
The second suspect is Ogunjobi Samuel, a 78 year old man arrested on April 30, 2026, at his home in Ilupeju-Ekiti, Ekiti State. Officers seized 350 grams of the same substance from him.
NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi shared the details in a statement on May 3, 2026. The agency said the arrests are part of its ongoing nationwide efforts against drug trafficking.
