Boredom Eliminating Post

  1. I was good in all subjects I did. I passed them all. Aside from English Language, where I had C4, I had four A's and 3'b in my O'Level.

At the higher institution, I had distinction. My favourite course was Financial Accounting.

Sometimes I just wish I could take it up as a subject. Maybe as a part-time job. If after two weeks, you don’t understand and know how to treat accounting issues ranging from balance sheet, trading, profit and loss account, reconciliation account, manufacturing account etc., I’ll make a refund to the student. That’s how much I love the course and how good I am at it.

I have just one regret: I didn’t go further into Chartered Accounting. A story I will never love to share.

    1. Well, you're right about your second paragraph, but then that is meant for someone who already had a prior knowledge of the basics of accounting. Financial accounting is my major as well and it's one of the subjects I teach presently.

It's never too late bro, you can go for it anytime the resources are available.

    3. There is nothing stoping you today, go finish up. I read somewhere that accountants are in great demand globally. A solid career with a great pay grade, plus it has universal application.

If it is funds you need then take out a Nelfund towards your studies, it’s basically an interest free loan and they have grants too. You are still young enough to move into a brand new career and live long enough to make a solid go of it.

    1. I hear math isn’t really hard, it’s the way it was taught to us. Nobody never explained the whys and how we can apply math to everyday life. Most math teachers cannot teach and that’s the end of it.

    1. Pissed me off too. They didn’t even have the sense to teach us about practical math for everyday living. Just xyz. Some ppl still can’t figure out annual interest rates, mortgage payments, compound interest, and mathematical calculations that make sense for everyday life. Why did they never teach us real math, especially for students who would not do further studies in deep math? We all need to know math for living.

  10. Mathematics o. Sit quietly in class..yes! Listen attentively...for where? Fully concentrated?? Ha! you wan kee me? Omoh! Even the name MATHEMATIC is not something I understand. As soon as my maths teacher steps into class, I pull out my novel and start reading. Sometimes my teacher asks 'Can you identify the forces at play that make you lose concentration in my class so frequently?' In my head, I'm like... 'eskis me sir, Ma je ki wahala pa mi nau. ma fi stress ba aye mi je mahn!.'

On a normal, I no dey talk for class, my own na to dey observe. To hear me talk for class gan sef na privilege, so when it comes to mathematics, it's worser. If I hear words like vector, Pythagoras' Theorem, parallelogram, algebra expression, quadratic simultaneous equation and their likes ba, the words go just hit me, I go con raise head look teacher, look board con comot eyes continue reading something else that will not give me trauma. Later, I go collect my classmate mathematics notebook con begin copy what I am not understanding and what is not understanding me and then we meuuuuve.

I'm still in shock I passed mathematics in waec 🤣 who perform this miracle? As how nau? From where to where nau? IKWAKWAKWAKWAKWAKWAKWA 🤣

  13. Maths & Further Maths. It's amazing how life turned out that I work in an organisation where, as a standard protocol, you must be very good with advanced Excel. How I took an interest in it and have held it down for over 10 years is what I can't explain.

  14. Maths. I think it starts with the foundation. If you miss it in Primary school then it'll be difficult.
