The raid happened on June 17, 2026, in Tapa village, Ibarapa North Local Government Area. NDLEA officials described the site as an industrial-scale methamphetamine laboratory set up under tarps in thick bush. The setup included large pots, gas cylinders, barrels, sacks of chemicals like caustic soda, and other tools for cooking hard drugs.
The suspects are:
• Jose Villa Ochoa, 56, a Mexican national brought in as a methamphetamine expert.
• Maxwell Uche Nevoh, 30
• Olatunji Yusuf, 37
• Bankole Akeem Owolabi, 45
• Ganiu Monsiu, 43
All five were caught at the site. The Mexican was said to provide technical know how for large scale production, while the Nigerians handled logistics and local support.
