The young woman behind the “Calabar Anonymous” Snapchat account has publicly apologized for sharing an unverified and defamatory story about people in Calabar and Cross River State.
In a video apology, she said she was naive and did not expect the post to cause such a big problem. She admitted the post which got her arrested was a paid job and that she failed to check the facts before sharing it.
She apologized to the people of Cross River State, her family, friends, her ex friends , Governor Prince Bassey Otu and Hon. Cyril Omini, and everyone she must have hurt with the lies she posted.
She also addressed rumors that the honorable sent thugs to arrest her. She clarified that the people who confronted her were acquaintances who acted out of anger, and that the honorable later handed her over to the Department of State Services (DSS) but pleaded for her release.
She said the matter is settled and that she wants her privacy to be respected...
She ended by promising that she would get something better doing and be a better person...
