Hmmmmm.......
STAND ALONE NARRATIVE
CONFUSED
Good afternoon everyone, I have a question......
if my husband sends my sister money on her birthday, does she need to tell me? He told me before he did it and I gave him the go ahead but she didn’t mention it to me....
Is there something between them? Check his texts that he chats with her to see th tone..it may be that she considers the money her right since they may have something...My conclusion is cos i have seen something like this before.
Please also let her know that you know that he sent her money WITH YOUR APPROVAL and ask her why she did not get back to you to let you know..

The proper thing she was ought to have done was tell you about it and also tell you too appreciate your husband for the kind gesture...
ReplyDeleteLet her know you are aware.
*she ought to have done.
DeleteYour husband may not have anything going on with her.
ReplyDeleteHe probably won't have told you before helping her if there was something going on. Beside, you didn’t catch them in the act. He told you himself.
What if your sister was the one who asked him for help? I know some men chase their sister-in-law, but not all men do that. There are men who are disciplined enough not to go down that path.
Yes, you can talk to your sister about it. But please don’t make it an issue unless there’s evidence of something going on between them.
Less I forget, I was once in a relationship where my woman’s elder sister would call me for little help. I assisted her, and sometimes I didn’t even tell her younger sister, my woman. I did that to protect her pride and respect.
I didn’t have anything going on with her, and I never even thought of it.
And yes, she was beautiful even more beautiful than my woman.

You eh...once it is from a husband to another person, under normal circumstances the wife should know. The Sis ought to tell her Sis that her husband gifted her some money.
DeleteLady T, don't mind him.
DeleteWhere in my comment did I say the wife shouldn't be on the know? You people should learn to comprehend things properly before engaging on an argument here pls. Can you point out the wrong in my comment? I said the same thing almost everyone said here.

There may be nothing between them
ReplyDeleteThe younger sister may not tell her elder sister about the money thinking that she did not know, so that she can collect more money from her elder sister.
Poster should still investigate, nothing is impossible
There is nothing between them jare. She didn’t tell her sister because she doesn’t want her sister to know she has money .
ReplyDeleteMake una stop reading meaning to everything.
shut up...we are not kids here. There could be something and there might not be. i personally have lived long enough to know siblings who had affairs with husbands. the right thing to have done is tell her sister the husband gave her money but if she did not her concerns are valid. however poster should do it with caution so she doesn't make a false accusation without evidence. not all men are dogs
DeleteIt is necessary that he tells you before doing anything for your family. You are his only link to that family. Even if the recipient was your brother, he still needs to let you know before taking action.
ReplyDeleteOn the issue of your sister not mentioning it to you, it might be that she doesn't want you to know so that she can receive more from you.. The possibility of your sister and your spouse having something intimate is very slim.
You can see that the man is careful and got your consent before doing it. He probably thought of what you might think should he do it without letting you know. He is sensitive to perception.
I agree 👍

ReplyDeleteDear poster, since your husband informed you and you gave him your approval. I don't think he's hiding anything from you.
Sometimes, people don't realize the small things that matter to us.
it's okay to feel hurt because gratitude and communication help strengthen family relationships.
Before allowing assumptions to create distance, choose a conversation over conclusions. Protect your peace, extend grace, and remember that strong families are built on understanding and not misunderstandings.
Remember, love is patient and kind..
There might be nothing between them. She may want to collect from your husband and also collect from you too. Maybe she feels telling you might block her way from collecting from both sides which is wrong. Let her know you are aware.
ReplyDeleteSDK you have preached against snooping all this years, I'm surprised you now advising someone to 'check his chats'
ReplyDeleteHow is the relationship between you and your sister? She's probably thinking you may be angry over the money or she's just lack manners. Stop thinking too far.
ReplyDeleteJust Let Her Know That You Are Aware That Your Oga Send Her Money ooooo..And See How It Goes ...
ReplyDeleteHello iya Boys
No she doesn’t have to mention and neither do you
ReplyDeleteI dont tell my aunt when her husband gives me money, she asked me not to ask him but she refuses to give me either. imagine me spending holiday with her and going home empty handed and she knows am resuming school.Na to look for when the husband dey alone beg am for money make i get small money join the one my parents dey give me.
ReplyDeleteYes she has her own money but e no dey drop
Your husband should not be sending any gifts individually to your sister. He should top up whatever you are sending and it is sent as a gift from both of you, or your entire family from your account, meaning that you’re the sender and the primary communicator of birthday well wishes on behalf of you both. You may also opt as a family to make a birthday call together, including any children.
ReplyDeleteShe doesn’t have to tell you that she received birthday money from him because she expects that you already know, as in a proper marriage there are no secrets between the spouses, and in truth and fact you already know.
I honestly feel she should have mentioned it to you. Not because she needed your permission, but simply out of respect and openness. A simple, "Your husband sent me a birthday gift. I just wanted to let you know and thank him for me," would have been enough. She may not have meant anything by not saying it, but keeping it to herself can easily create unnecessary doubts or misunderstandings. In my opinion, honesty and transparency go a long way in keeping family relationships healthy.
ReplyDeleteNo be everything wey person do bad, but some things na common courtesy. If na my sister, I go expect make she tell me. No be say she dey ask for permission, na just respect.
Why is this particular birthday different? Why not gently ask your sis about it. Remember not to jump to conclusion yet .
ReplyDeleteMy aunty's husband gives her the money to send herself to her family members if he needs to assist them in anyway and he tells her when he needs to send money to his family members.
ReplyDeleteI think this should be the standard.
There was a time I visited them, on the day I was going back to base, I was suppose to leave home with him in the morning so he can drop me at the park before proceeding to work, I was in the parlour seated when he stepped out of his room with a bundle of cash, instead of handing it over to me, he called his wife, handed it over to her before she gave it to me. I thanked both of them and chuked the money in my bag before we left.
I like their style, I hope me and my future hubby adopt it, it shows respect.
Pp
Why should that be a standard?? Why do Nigerians make things complex...oh because they lack integrity...I forgot!
DeleteI like their style too. Let the person who shares the blood do the direct giving.
DeleteThe comments on this post though ....
ReplyDeleteRegardless of anything, let her know you are aware. Don't want to bother my pretty head about any extra marital bs.
ReplyDeleteLol, is it my sister who wrote this? I'm quite sure she doesn't know about this blog. Definitely not her; if something bothered her even slightly, she'd boldly confront me and speak her mind. Mind you, I'm the only girl yet to marry in my family.
ReplyDeleteMy immediate younger sister's husband has always sent me money on my birthday. I have never asked him for it and never will. I've never called my sister to inform her about this in the past five years. I simply send him a message of appreciation and prayers; nothing more, nothing less.
It never occurred to me that I was obligated to inform my sister each time. But looking at people's responses, it seems I ought to. What's most shocking, though, is that so many people are already entertaining the idea that something inappropriate is going on or could go on. Is there no more integrity among us as human beings? Is there no more home training left? Ahhhhh.
Your Husband did well by informing you before sending it but your Sister didn’t do well by not informing you! Simple courtesy demands she does that except she thinks your Husband didn’t tell you before sending and she’s trying to play smart so that you can send yours to her too! Don’t ask her just let it slide that’s Genz behavior but I am sure there will still be an opportunity in future for you to bring up the matter with her!
ReplyDeleteShe should have told you. In situations like this, I'll even call my sister to tell her to help me thank her husband. Her behavior so wrong
ReplyDeleteAbeg many things are going on in people’s head
ReplyDeleteHe sent she said thank you and moved on
Maybe one day you guys will be talking and she’ll mention it but you sef are not sounding like a good sister
If I wanted my sister to tell me, I would have told her I know since Abi
