On 15th of August 2026, officers in Ilisan, Ogun State, arrested Esther Ogunmabo and found her with 90 grams of skunk (a type of cannabis) packed in small sachets ready for sale.

She told the officers she began selling the drug after a fire destroyed her small provisions shop.
According to her, one of her daughters who lives in Lagos brought her a fresh supply every four days, and she sold it in bits to people in the area.
Because of her advanced age, NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (rtd) ordered that she be released on bail and sent for counselling. Her daughter has been arrested in connection with the supply.

Honestly it's very sad that at 101 years grandma is hustling. God bless Marwa for showing her mercy, she needs rehabilitation.
She had to do what she had to do. Thank God she was released. Hold her daughter responsible.
