The family of a woman, Olayinka Oremade, who was reportedly abducted by gunmen in the Alapako/Oyebola area of Ogun State, has appealed to the Nigeria Police Force and the government to intensify efforts to secure her release. The victim was reportedly kidnapped alongside one of her staff members on Friday, August 14, after gunmen allegedly attacked their vehicle while they were returning from a farm in the area.

A joint security team in Anambra State has raided suspected secessionist hideouts in Ogbaru Local Government Area, killing six suspected members of the group during a prolonged gun battle. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, as Director of Fundraising for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The appointment was contained in the list of members of the campaign council released on Saturday by the Presidency.
President Tinubu will serve as Chairman of the council, while Vice President Kashim Shettima will be Vice Chairman. APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, is also listed as Vice Chairman, while former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, will serve as Director-General.
Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, is the Secretary, while APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, and Hadiza Bala-Usman will serve as Deputy Secretary and Assistant Secretary respectively.
