Ogogo reportedly sent the money while ill, asking the Imam to hold it in case he travelled to India for treatment. The Imam clarified that the money was strictly meant to rebuild Ogogo’s grandfather’s house, not for any mosque project as rumoured.
After Ogogo’s burial and seventh‑day prayers, the family agreed the money should be returned. The Imam transferred the full amount to Ogogo’s elder brother, Rilwan, with another brother present at the bank.
