I salute you all....
I am here thinking of what to cook today and if i get what to cook today, tomorrow its the same thing again!.....Am i the only one this happens to? If it is only me i can eat grilled chicken and salad everyday oh....... But my Bambinos ask me what i am cooking in the morning so they can agree or disagree and one thing is for sure ''MAMA PLEASE DONT COOK NIGERIAN FOOD WITHOUT ASKING US''....meanwhile my hubby complains every day that i stopped giving him Naija food to eat...LOL!....Una see say this life no balance? some want and some no want.......
How do you guys solve this problem of thinking of what to cook everyday? Do you have a menu plan? is it a new plan every week? that one na another stress oh!
Something just occurred to me now that i will try out......I want to ask everyone to submit menu for the week.......
Maybe i should get a cook that comes and goes oh...cos at this stage i wanna eat not cook...hehehehehehehehehehehehe...

TEACHER LIFE
I have a rather bittersweet relationship with the proprietor of my school.
I respect her, I greet her, I do my work and go my way.
I'm not the type to call her "Mummy", bow excessively or follow her around.
And apparently, that makes me a little different.
She has jokingly called me a "pussy cat" before because I don't believe in insulting staff members simply because she is angry with them.

A few weeks ago, we had a meeting with top management and the HODs to wrap up the term and prepare for summer school. One of the HODs was making a point about teachers not always carrying out their responsibilities properly because some were genuinely overwhelmed with the amount of work being placed on them.
Before she could finish, the proprietor suddenly said:
"I know who she's talking about. Miss C. The pretender. Very lazy teacher. Anytime you give her work, she dodges it."
I was shocked.
I immediately said, "That's not true, ma."
Because I knew how much work I had put in that term.
I knew the progress my children had made.
I knew the extra things I had taken on.
But she told me to keep quiet.
According to her, everything I had done was a lie.
"Miss E does everything."
And just like that, in front of the people I worked with, everything I had done that term was reduced to nothing.

Some of the HODs murmured that it wasn't true.
I heard them But I didn't defend myself anymore.
I just sat there And tried very hard not to cry.
Not because I couldn't handle criticism.
If she had told me I had fallen short somewhere, I would have listened.
If she had pointed out something I needed to improve, I would have taken it.
But being called lazy when I knew how hard I had worked?
That one entered differently.
The funny thing is that nobody could see what was happening inside me.
I was sitting there quietly, looking composed, while inside me something had completely shut down.
All the excitement I had for the summer programme disappeared.
The ideas I had.
The plans I was making.
The energy.
Gone.
When I got home, I didn't tell anyone.I cried.
I cried because sometimes the person standing in front of a class smiling and teaching children is also carrying things nobody knows about.
Then Monday came.
I stood at assembly with my children.
I danced.I jumped.I laughed.I sang.
You would never have guessed that two days earlier, I had gone home and cried my eyes out.
And that was when I thought about how vulnerable teachers really are.
We correct children when they are wrong.
We encourage them when they are discouraged.
We comfort them when they cry.
But sometimes, teachers need that same grace too.
A teacher can be hardworking and still make mistakes.
A teacher can be overwhelmed and still care deeply about the children.
A teacher can disagree with management and still respect the school.
And a teacher can walk into class smiling while quietly nursing a wound nobody knows exists.
Sometimes, before telling a teacher to "do better", perhaps we should remember that there is a human being standing underneath that title.
And yes, I still danced with my children on Monday.
Because whatever happened in that meeting, they didn't deserve a teacher who had stopped showing up emotionally.
Even if, deep down, I wasn't sure I would be coming back to them the following term.

Paris we are very wicked and greedy in this country. No wonder Nigeria has the lowest life expectancy in the world. Most of things we consume is adulterated. I saw a view of a biscuit that has maggots and still being sold, God help us.

Her roommate advised against going to meet someone she barely knew and they meeting in a guest house for the first time makes the whole arrangement suspicious, but as the saying goes, you don’t advise a person in love. The lady however forwarded the guy’s contact to her roommate in case anything goes wrong.
1 hour after she left, her roommate tried to reach her on phone, but her number was switched off. The same with the guy's number 😧 It's been more than 2 months now, her number has been switched off, and she has not been seen. Her family back home in Akwa Ibom, where she comes from are worried whether she is okay and alive.
Pls ladies (and gentleman) be extra careful when going to see someone you barely know. Safely is 1st 📌 And don't meet dates for the first time in hotels or their homes. An open place, preferably a restaurant or relaxation park is fine. May God continue watch over us 👏

ReplyDelete@Teacher life: Your story reminds me of my experience in one of the schools I taught. The school is owned by one of the popular churches and the proprietor is their resident pastor.
ReplyDeleteEye service here and there and I don't like it, neither do I do it. I saw teachers go on two knees to greet the man when they saw him coming into the school premises; some would go on one knee. "Good morning daddy. Yes daddy. Fine daddy" would fill the air. Yet these same teachers, especially one woman like that, would be doing what this man complained about.
Once, on the assembly ground, this woman was really pinching a boy while stepping on his foot because he was talking, but immediately she saw the pastor coming, she left him, warned him that she did not want to see tears, and then she started greeting, kneeling and standing up and down.
I didn't know that by not doing all these things, it was really making him angry until the day I dropped my resignation letter. This man said a lot about how I didn't greet him well, and how I didn't come for the program he organized every morning. I lived far from the school and the program was 6am. I couldn't risk my safety to attend his program because of the kind of area I was living in then. When he was done shouting and all, he asked the head teacher not to accept my letter and said I must not resign.
Me! After all the embarrassment. After the people in the office and the teachers who came to peep had seen me cry. God forbid! I left and never looked back.
That incident/my experience there is one reason I can't work in a mission-owned school again.
People that surprise me in this economy are dog owners who actively feed their dogs. You mean you have enough food to eat and still have the one to feed your dog?
