  1. Heavenly Father, we thank you for this beautiful Friday morning.
God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble.(Psalm 46:1)
Beloved of God, because our Lord is our refuge and strength, let us surrender every burden, worries and concern we have carried throughout the week to his throne of grace.
Even in the midst of difficulties, may we experience his unfailing presence in Jesus name πŸ™ May he guide our steps, strengthen, renew our hopes as we journey through today and into the weekend in Jesus name. Amen. πŸ™
GOOD MORNING, MY SDK FAMILY! 🌹

  2. Which Company Would You Rather Keep? Hebrews 12:22-23.

"The people you admire reveal much about the values you cherish."

"Choose your influences carefully and cultivate a heart that esteems the things God esteems. When you identify with those who live for His purpose, they'll inspire you to pursue the things that truly matter and build a life of lasting significance."

    Prayer!!

Dear Father, thank you for the examples of faith preserved for us in your Word. My heart is set on your purpose, and I value the things that matter to you. I walk in faith, courage and devotion, fulfilling your calling upon my life in glory and righteousness, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

  3. If you have ever had to sit in a room after losing someone you deeply love, you'll understand this instantly...Life is nothing in the grand scheme of things, yet it means absolutely everything right now.. It is nothing because all the material things we stress over don’t matter in the end.
It is everything right now because every single heartbeat is a gift we shouldn't take for granted. It's a strange paradox. You look at their empty shoes, their unfinished projects, or the things they were saving for "later," and it hits you. The illusion of time fades away. Losing someone you love changes the way you look at the world forever.

We spend so much of our time waiting. Waiting for an event that is "special enough." We wait for the "perfect moment" to be happy. We save expensive bottles of wine for special occasions, We save our best clothes in the back of the wardrobe, We store our fine china untouched in the cabinet, We hoard our money, starving our current joy to feed an uncertain future. We stack up savings, telling ourselves we will finally rest and enjoy life when we hit a certain number. πŸ€” But What if that tomorrow never comes? What if the special occasion you are waiting for is just being alive today?

Take a moment to look at your life right now. When was the last time you actually paused to enjoy the fruits of your labor? If you are blessed enough to have breath in your lungs right now, please start enjoying the life you are actively living. Stop waiting. You will always be able to buy new things later. You can always make more money, but you can never buy back wasted time.

If there is a shirt in your closet you love, wear it on a random day just because you can. Wear that outfit you love just to sit in the living room. If you have been saving every single penny for a distant future, Once in a while, dip into that your savings and give yourself a treat. Go out and buy that meal you have been craving. Use the good plates, Order your favorite drink just because you want it. Take yourself out on a quiet date, Take that trip, and see the world. Even if it is just to breathe some fresh air. It doesn’t have to be expensive; it just has to bring you joy. ENJOY BEING ALIVE IN THE EXACT MOMENT. Saving for the future is smart, but treating yourself today is necessary. Balance is everything. The "special occasion" isn't a date on the calendar; being alive today is the special occasion. When we leave this world, the bank accounts stay behind, the clothes stay in the closet, and the world keeps spinning

The biggest trap we fall into is living our lives to please people who are also trying to figure out their own lives. Stop worrying about public opinion or what people will say. True freedom is realizing that other people’s opinions do not matter. As long as you are not stealing from anyone, seeking their downfall, hurting anyone or destroying someone else’s happiness, do what makes your soul feel alive. People will talk anyway, whether you do good or bad. Let them talk while you live. They won't live your life for you, and they certainly won't die your death. How you live your life is entirely up to you. Do YOU and stop caring about the whispers or judgments of others. They aren't living your life; you are.

We only get one shot at this journey. Don't leave this world with a heart full of "what ifs" and a closet full of unworn clothes. Live in the present moment, Live loudly, love deeply, laugh a bit louder, forgive the people you want to forgive. Enjoy the little things, Do the things you want to do today, take care of yourself and embrace today with everything you have because one day you will look back and realize they were actually the big things.

TOMORROW is a promise that was never actually made to any of us. ALL WE HAVE IS RIGHT NOW.

    1. One painful truth life teaches us is that we never know which moment will be our last with the people we love. Let us love deeply, forgive freely and appreciate the blessings we often take for granted. Life is too short to live for people’s approval while neglecting our own happiness. Tomorrow is not promised, but today is a gift from God. May we never wait until someone is gone before we realise how precious they were to us. May God teach us to live with grateful hearts, love without regret and cherish every moment he gives us in Jesus name πŸ™
      Remain blessed darling Baci 🌹

    2. I resolved a long time ago to not WAIT for any special moments to enjoy and be happy.
Life is unpredictable, so live each day like it's your last.
While living, let's also try to put a smile on people's faces in our own little way.
The beauty about doing that is you do not need millions to make people happy. Little things matter alot, the intention behind it is what makes it all fulfilling.....doing good is fulfilling.

    5. @Big Mama...Amen and Amen! Thank you so much for these deep and inspiring words. You put it so beautifully....we really do not know what tomorrow holds, so making the most of every day with open and grateful hearts is the best way to live. Thank you for reminding us to love freely and cherish the gift of today. Remain blessed too, and sending you lots of love Ma! πŸ’•πŸ«ΆπŸ»

@SluttyChic....Your point about making others happy is so true. We often trick ourselves into thinking we need to make huge, grand gestures or have a lot of money to make a difference. But in reality, a genuine smile, a kind word, or just taking the time to truly listen to someone can completely change their day.
There is a unique kind of joy that comes from lifting others up. It creates a beautiful cycle: when you try to bring light into someone else's life, you naturally bring it into your own as well. Living for the moment isn't just about what we can get out of life, but also about what we can give

Thank you for adding this layer of wisdom to the conversation. It is a wonderful reminder to not only live for the moment but to make those moments meaningful for the people around us, too. 🫢🏻

  7. A CURSE INTO A BLESSING

'God turned the curse into a blessing for you.' Deuteronomy 23:5 NKJV

Paul told the Corinthians, 'Therefore we do not lose heart...For our light affliction...is working for us' (2 Corinthians 4:16-17 NKJV). Jim Stovall proved this to be true. At age seventeen, his doctor told him he was losing his sight, and that nothing could be done to reverse it. Rather than drop out of life, he pursued a college degree and also studied privately with a successful entrepreneur. His goal was to be in business for himself, even if blind, so that he might manage his own career and life. Even though he had prepared himself for blindness, when the day came that he could no longer see, he felt devastated.

In his book, You Don't Have to Be Blind to See, Jim said, 'All I wanted to do was sit in my living room and listen to music.' But then Jim dug deep down in his faith and, as he said, 'God opened my inner eyes to a new idea.' He entered a highly unusual field for a blind person - television! He founded the Narrative Television Network to aid visually impaired people. NTN adds more 'descriptive narration' to soundtracks so that listeners might visualise a programme or film and enjoy it more fully. NTN broadcasts to over twenty million households, and amazingly, some 60 per cent of the audience can see. For his work, Jim received television's highest honour, the Emmy Award, after only one season on the air!

So the word for today is this: God can make your problem 'work for you' and 'turn a curse into a blessing' (Deuteronomy 23:5 NKJV).
    Word for Today

  10. Eka Joy,
Your reply under slutty chic's comment on chronicles is very insulting and demeaning. She has the right to her opinion same as you, if you cannot counter her position, why resort to personal insults. One day, you'll surely get what you're looking for.

    1. My dear anon, don't even stress much about it. There are certain people i don't bother stooping low to respond to no matter what they say.
You saw how the sensible and mature ones disagreed with my comment.

    2. Please let the issue slide. The lady wasn't even ruffled by it. Though I thought is this how it is done on this forum, when people disagree with you they insult you? Funny thing is Sluttychic would have replied same way she did if she was married (is she even single?) I have been reading and catching up on old chronicles and I noticed she has empathy for in laws(it's likely personal) even when they are wrong , while the other lady has empathy for wives(it's also likely personal too) even when they were wrong she would never castigate them. Or have you ever seen her insults wives before? They are both the same way, always on the other side of the arguments. I also noticed while most men on the blog would always take sides with men the women too take sides with women and the one who doesn't is insulted.

    3. Anon 10:51,

You have spoken well. I loved how you captured your points in this comment. Honestly, just like I will always say, two truths can coexist. What I dislike is attacking people's opinions condescendingly. I see that here often. We can't all be on the same wavelength when it comes to opinions. When some people don't agree with your point, they resort to insults or demeaning remarks. It clearly shows they have lost the argument or logical reasoning. I often read comments here calling people 'goody two shoes' and 'pick me', which isn't proper. Policing how people comment is not something to be encouraged here. I just love myself. I no send anybody papa here. I no dey see anybody face. I make my argument and bounce. If I feel the need to engage with a rejoinder, I will, but not when it's from clowns.

  14. Why go to the gym when gym materials are all around me. Lol. I bought a big bunch of plantain some days back. They aren't ripe yet. As I picked the bunch up to inspect, I saw it was really heavy and can pass as dumbbells. Na so exercise start oo. About 50 to 70 lifts set my heart pumping well. Will keep going till they become ripe.

    Good morning.
