Nigerian Govt Confirms Ebola Case In FCT And Begins Contact Tracing

The Federal Government of Nigeria has confirmed an Ebola case in the Federal Capital Territory involving a woman who recently arrived in Nigeria from Uganda. She is currently receiving treatment in isolation after spending several days at a private hospital in the FCT.

Health authorities have begun contact tracing, identifying 44 close contacts so far, including healthcare workers, patients and travel contacts.
The Federal Government has intensified nationwide surveillance and urged hospitals to remain alert, isolate suspected cases immediately and report any potential infections to health authorities.

    2. Nigeria can and has handled ebola. We don't desperately make acquaintance with the dead like the frigging Congolese do. We will be fine.

    4. Please stop thinking and writing like an illiterate.

The same people who successfully handled ebola 2014 and covid are still the ones there in a higher capacity. That's a major plus.

  4. The 'Ebola' case should not affect the election coming up in January. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that campaigns in the FCT and some parts of Nigeria have been cancelled. Knowing they have lost the momentum. What this APC government cannot do, they will eventually manufacture. Let me just believe it's my mind playing tricks on me.

    2. Teejay, if government wanted to use Ebola as an excuse for cancelling elections, they'd announce that the detected strain of Ebola in Abuja is the Zaire strain and not the Bundibugyo ebola virus.

Besides Ebola is not airborne so I don't see what the fuss is about.

    1. Check my comment above and connect the dots. In the coming days, you will hear that campaigns have been cancelled to avoid spread. When it happens, remember you read it here from me first. I sincerely pray they will prove me wrong.

    2. 12.17,

A little search will help you make the right comment.

The person went to DRC(epicentre of the present outbreak) for business and travelled through Uganda to Nigeria.
