Who should be responsible for helping a struggling family member , the parents who birthed them, or the siblings they grew up with? And at what point does help turn into entitlement? At what point should one stop helping when the receiver becomes entitled to the help they are getting?
Let’s talk.
Where should the responsibility truly fall?

My family and siblings never feel entitled in any way.......I'm Happy extending help to them anytime & day whichever ways.....
ReplyDeleteI love them!!!!!
This is 😧..
ReplyDeleteIt's so funny when an adult couldn't pay his children's school fees. He stays in a free home and couldn't foot the nepa bill.
Each time the younger brother says no to his request, he will start saying trash about his brother. Someone you didn't send to school ooo. He suffered all alone and mercy found him and he traveled out of the country. Few years later, he decided to start helping his brother but entitlement mentality of his brother has destroyed their relationship.
It's a pity shaaa
“My friend, who works as a land agent, made ₦2,000,000 from a deal involving his elder brother.
ReplyDeleteHis elder brother, who lives in China, wanted to buy land in Nigeria.
Instead of contacting my friend (his younger brother), he reached out to someone else.
He did this deliberately to hide the transaction because, a few months earlier, my friend had asked him for money and he had refused to help.
The agent the brother contacted happened to be a close friend of my friend.
The land they sold him was actually still under my friend’s custody.
So my friend was directly involved in the deal without his elder brother knowing.
He told the agent to add an extra ₦4,000,000 to the price of the land.
After the sale went through, my friend made a clean ₦2,000,000 without doing any real work”
A land agent made ₦2 million from his elder brother's secret land purchase after being bypassed in the transaction
Very what? Very good!
DeleteThat's good 😊. I don't know the reason hiding something you know your brother could help you with mostly, if you know that he is genuinely struggling
DeleteAnd that’s why the brother didn’t trust him
DeleteThanks 16:26 my sentiments exactly.
DeleteThis is the continuation of the story online
DeleteAfter my friend received his share of the money, he called his elder brother to congratulate him on the land he had bought.
His elder brother was shocked — he had never wanted my friend to find out about the transaction.
I don’t see anything with a family member who can comfortably afford to help their struggling siblings or parents, actually helping out!
ReplyDeletePersonally, I cannot see my siblings struggling to pay their kids fees and not do it! I just can’t!
Some call me an enabler and I honestly don’t care! I will continue to lend a helping hand to my siblings for as long as I can and as far as they need it!
It does help that I don’t have siblings that act entitled or that are not deserving!
Just thank God for yours
DeleteI helped then my own beneficiaries started putting the kids in more expensive schools
As how na
You are not being an enabler so long as you know that your siblings are really trying their best. I don't see the reason not to help in one way or the other
DeleteWhen, when I have, I help. If I don't, I face front. But one thing is certain, when I notice you are becoming entitled, I quickly start looking for ways to cut you off. Entitlement breeds envy, and once it gets to that stage, they start looking for ways to harm you!
ReplyDeleteAbeg make una nor vex. NEPA has finally given us light around 2:41pm this afternoon. It's just a mixed feeling
ReplyDeleteI always give when necessary. I no fit do pass myself. Shikena
ReplyDeleteMe I believe in teaching someone how to fish rather than giving you fish all the time. Just established all your family members if you can and maybe occasionally during festive period, you send them something.
ReplyDeleteIf i, m finacially buoyant enough , i will help my fam with all pleasure, if i dont assist who will?
ReplyDeleteTheir own be say as I never marry, them just believe say I no get any serious use for money. Even the one that inherited house is still billing me. As how naa. The sad thing is they are not overly grateful. My elder sister told me my younger brother is already building a house o and has two properties in an estate, na that time my eyes clear for head. Una dey invest while my money dey for everyone to spend. Una try.

ReplyDeleteI will always help my siblings or Parents to the best of my ability. Thankfully,I don't have anyone with entitlement mentality. Whatever little I am able to give is appreciated.
