ReplyDeleteSometimes it is pruning - the delay is for you to learn to trust him and to be patient, such pruning produces virtues within us, which bears more weight than the material or temporal things we are hoping to receive.
ReplyDeleteThe protection is from yourself - the version of you that is asking for it, is not the version he wants to receive the blessing.
Be patient. Our father in faith learned the hard way and waited till he was 99. The initial version of him that asked for a son was impatient. By the time God was done with him, the version of him that received Isaac was ready to surrender that same Isaac to God.
