Why does ectopic pregnancy happen at all? How does a woman with one tube get back her groove again without the fear that her slim chances of conception will only get worse?

Kindly help publish my worries (lol)on your blog. I need advice, my doctor is not helping matters either.
Last year i got pregnant and 8weeks later i discovered it was an ectopic pregnancy, I almost bled to death. I had surgery to remove the fetus and my right fallopian tube. Its one year already and we are actively trying to conceive again.
Stella please I need advice from your Dear Readers, has anyone had an ectopic pregnancy? Has anyone conceived with one fallopian tube? What do I need to do to boost my chances to conceive again with one tube.

ReplyDeleteHey, I am a very good example of wrong diagnosis, when I was in Nigeria. I lost one fallopian tube due to doctor's in adequacy. When I got to the USA it happened again but my doctor gave me a shot otherwise known as injection and the fetus melted away, without any surgery.My candid advice is to check for any STD also make sure ur husband is free from any. And it can happen to just anyone. After the two incident I resulted to fasting and prayers., and I was healed. The devil uses any means to rob one of happiness, be steadfast in prayers as there's no barren in his kingdom. Tafia from NY.

Everyone knows that it's best to consult a doctor in issues like this, but there's a reassurance that comes from knowing that other people have experienced what you are going tru and that they also scaled through it. Sometimes, no matter the assurance the doctor gives you, It's never enoff till you hear other people's stories. I believe that is what this poster needs right now. So sir/ ma'am, stop calling people stupid.

DeleteThe 1st already had kids b4 the ectopic, and was given an injection to dissolve the fetus. So her fallopian tube was spared.
The 2nd one lost a fallopian tube but later went on to have a child with the remaining tube.
I think the injection is suitable only if they catch the ectopic early. If the lady is already bleeding, only solution may be to remove the tube to save her life.
Go to ur obg/gyn and do a thorough work-up. Treat any STDs. God's grace.

DeleteI have. A friend had such problem but wasn't much of a bother because she already had 2 kids at the time. But only 4 months later, she fell pregnant and had a successful pregnancy and birth.. so don't worry too much as long as the other fallopian tube is not blocked (healthy) then you have a chance. DeleteI have a friend that had the same problem some time ago, after the operation, she was afraid that she might not be able to conceive again, but thank God she has already gotten a boy and a girl since then. So relax with prayer you will get pregnant again.

ReplyDeleteI had an ectopic pregnancy last year. At six weeks, the fetus and left fallopian tube were removed. 3 months later, I took in. Today, I'm the proud mum of a 2month old Princess. My point? Don't worry. Worrying gets in d way. With one tube, you can have as many kids as you want.

DeleteMy BFF had the same thing,but God in his infinite mercy,l repeat mercy in her own case because she soaks beer like a like a sponge yet she has 3 kids with just one falopian tube that was cut off in national hospital,Abuja. But there's one thing,her motto is Hakuna Matata'( it means no worries). Find another gynae and get a second,third even 100 opinion. Coming on the blog is good but a good hospital with good gynaecologists is better. Be Happy becos stress and worries will only delay your conception. He is not a partial God,time and season happeneth to us all. Watch out for yours before worries make you miss it.

Dear poster......you have to present to your doctor the moment you miss your period....so in case it's a repeat ectopic it can be noticed on time and milking of the tubes done to prevent a rupture mind you a previous ectopic is a very high risk factor for a repeat..

I had ectopic and Methotrexate injection was used to stop mine and also dissolve it. I had to go for that choice cos I was afraid of losing a Fallopian tube. I still had a healthy child after that. My cousin had hers removed and she had twins after that with one. Just believe that there is nothing God can't do. You can still have babies. Good luck and God bless.

I have had an etopic pregnancy. I had a surgery where they removed one of my fallopian tubes. As long as one has one healthy fallopian tube, u r good to go. I have been pregnant twice, though unfortunately my first child was born at 7months and she didn't survive in the incubator. And I jus delivered another baby girl 3weeks ago and she's doing so well. So my dear, u don't need to get so desperate. Desperation and anxiety kills all. U knw it's a hormone stuff. Jus relax, have your fun with hubby and you will be fine.

But one thing; make sure that your hands are free of "shedding innocent blood"; TOP for God says that he hates hands that shed innocent blood; see Prov. 6:15-17. Ex. 1:20-23. In that case, the works of your hands; your blessing are being scattered. If so, repent and plead for his mercy. If you have not partaken in shedding innocent blood or suggesting to someone to do so, simply wait on the Lord, he will bless your womb again. Ask your husband same question and pray together. ReplyDeleteIt is very possible to carry to term a healthy baby with one tube, im a proud mother of a baby boi from such a situation. My mother was so worried I would have difficulties but I had a smooth and uneventful pregnancy and safe normal delivery. Soon will be going on that trip again when my boi is older. You will be just fine please quit worrying.

ReplyDeleteThe saddest thing of all was my stupid third wife of a neighbor then,who didn't even come to see me in the hospital while i was on admission,had the guts to tell me; "so you are now a half woman"! those where exactly the first words that came out of her mouth before she said thank God for quick recovery! Can you imagine!
A year later,I took in and had my son.

Her doctor told her she can never get pregnant again. 2 years later after endless fasting and prayers, she gave birth to twins (2 boys). Barely a year after that she gave birth to her third child. I am no doctor, but i know a doctor who is above every other doctors, he is the one who has the final say and the one who disposes when man has proposed.....I have seen and heard testimonies of women who never had womb, but through divine providence et al they were able to conceive so yours won't be different, infact, you will carry twins with "just that one fallopian tube" you doubted its capability to the bewilderment of your self and everyone here trust me and keep believing God while you do the needful darling!

You can conceive with just 1 fallopiqn tube ,normal pregnancy ,normal delivery my Aunty right now is 7months pregnant no complications just extra monitoring ,more scans not too sure what you mean by doctor not helping ! As long as the other tube is healthy, u can conceive easily with one fallopian tube. I am a testimony. I had my left tube removed due to ruptured ectopic pregnancy. Glory be to God, i have had 2 miscarriages and a healthy 3 month old Son. Stay positive and prayerful. All u really need to conceive is one working tube and ovary.
