PRESIDENT JONATHAN HAILS CHIEF IGBINEDION’S ACCOMPLISHMENTS AT 80
President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has commended Chief Gabriel Igbinedion’s life of uncommon accomplishments.
In a congratulatory letter addressed to the Esama of Benin Kingdom on the occasion of his 80thbirthday anniversary, tomorrow, President Jonathan also praised his trail-blazing achievements in several fields of human endeavour.
“Come the 11th of September 2014, you will be marking your landmark 80th birthday anniversary of a life of uncommon accomplishments and enduring fulfillment.
“In a classic epitomization of the triumph of the will over the temporal limitations of circumstance of birth, you defied all odds and emerged from very humble beginnings to become not just a captain of industry of note beyond the shores of our nation, but also one of Nigeria’s most readily recognizable names.
“Through it all, you have not only remained faithful to the rich cultural heritage of the revered Benin Kingdom as one of the most senior Chiefs in the land, but you have also played a significant role in Nigeria’s democratic developmental process. A trailblazer in every enterprise you have ventured into, yours is indeed, a life truly worthy of celebration,” the President wrote.
Wishing Chief Igbinedion very happy 80th birthday celebrations on behalf of the Government and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Jonathan prayed that Almighty God will continue to guide the Esama and keep him in good health.
