Who knows anything about......






I NEED TO KNOW.....
I have been ttc for 10 months now. Just had a blood test done and my prolactin level is high. My doc prescribed cabergolin 0.5mg twice a week.

 I just want to hear from BVs who have had elevated prolactin and got pregnant after taking this medication. Any success stories? Pls, let me know. Thanks Stella and BVs

    You actually just reminded me of endocrinology classes in med school.
    Anyways, I ve seen several patients who were on carbergoline and bromocriptine, get pregnant.
    Hope u sometimes ovulate ?
    The drug would balance your hormones ( I estrogen and testestorone. And would increase your chances of ovulating, then conceiving .
    With prayers as well, everything is possible with God.

      @anonymous, women have little of androgens , that produce little testosterone ok. Esp people with pituary gland disease ok.

      Yes testosterone, it is produced in small quantities in our ovaries and adrenal gland. It's not purely a 'male hormone'.

    Had same issue plus annovulation. Thank God I'm a mum 2 d most beautiful baby now(kisses 2 u my luv). I did d check up in March 2013, was placed on parlodel in June 2013, cant remember d prescription bt it was very strong on me, conceived in July 2013. Well, wt a lot of fasting n prayers at mfm though.  Wt GOD, all things are possible. ****Shalla 2 u my man who was dia 4 me always, I'll be ur wife forever IJN****

    I know someone with this same situation. My Dear it is no biggie, and carbegoline twice a week is much. i suggest you see Dr. Ikenna Emeka of Olive Branch in St. Georges Hoispital in Lekki. I assure you it will all be resolved.

    Ooh I remember this vividly.
    Some years back when I didn't think my 40days cycle could be an issue, a friend of mine woke me up and I decided to visit the hospital.
    Was sent to do this test and several others including TVS. Hormonal profile came out all on normal levels but the Dr told me I should chill except I wanna start having babies at the moment( I had just finished school). Months later I was diagnosed with prolactinaemia and I went back. Was placed on bromocriptine, took it for two months and it stopped but resurfaced after 3 months.
    I went back to tell the Dr and he suggested I sleep with him to see if I'm fertile since I was disturbed.
    I asked him what will happen to the baby if I eventually take in and he said he'll decide when the time comes. I abused him and walked out of his consulting room. I stopped taking the drugs cos it affected me badly.

    I refused to let it bother me, I wasn't even dating at that time. I just kept praying and believing God that it will happen at appointed time.
    Swthrt I'm glad to tell you I'm expecting my first baby in few months.
    Do a TVS to confirm to check PCOS.
    God will see you through.

    Yes my dear its very effective, my prolactin level was so high when I was ttc my first child my doctor recommended cabergolin too and I was pregnant few months after.

      E no better say I do yahoo than to carry drugs?? All these big guys and girls you see around, what do you think they do for a living?? They might have one or two companies to cover up but most of them are G guys. Infact I won learn wire wire now and how to hack accounts kikikikikikiki. Mind you I invest with my money I don't spend recklessly so my kids will never suffer, so pls take your advice and shove it up your ass and leave me alone. I won sleep

    I was diagnosed with high prolactin also and was put on bromocriptine for a month,i then decided to go on fertilaid which I used for about 4/5months. A came across an article which said cough syrup with guaifenesin aids fertility so looked it up on line and read so many success stories.So before I approached ovulation started taking it I took ( robitussin guaifenesin and benylin guaifenesin) as I got a positive opk I decided to baby dance using preseed for 3 consecutive days + prayers and BAMM!!! Big fat positive,I just broke down and started crying was overjoyed.after exactly 12 months of ttc.i pray every thing work out for your good.
