Hajia Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan, gubernatorial Candidate of Taraba State under All Progressive Congress (APC) party appears to be leading in the current polls and might emerge Nigeria's first female governor.

    2. Good stuff but I have a few points to make/a couple of questions to ask....
      1) Nigeria has had a female Governor in the past(Virgina Etiaba of Anambra state) ...
      2) one of the tweets says"Now i'm sure Nigeria as a country is ready for a female president. Heloo the NORTH just produced a female governor #Taraba decides"
Now my question with regards to number 2 above is: Is Nigeria ready for a female president because THE NORTH Has produced a female governor?? Or is there another reason for that assertion!!!.......

    4. @ annon 13:12, The difference between Mrs Jummai and dame Etiaba is that Jummai will be the 1st elected female gov in Nigeria, while DVE only stepped in temporarily.

Btw I tot Taraba is a PDP state?they claimed PDP won in d presidential, how come APC is clearly leading now?smh.its obvious dat without rigging in d presidential election,GEJ wouldn't even have gotten up to 5states!the most despised incumbent president ever.#sad

    2. @ sther: do not argue about things u don't know. If she is declared winner, she will be the first female governor elect. Etiaba was that of anambra temporarily but she was not elected. She was there after peter obi was supposedly impeached and as the deputy governor, she acted as the governor temporarily.

      Delete
    3. Etiaba was not acting governor. She was sworn in as governor if Anambra state and was in that role for some months before she stepped down when supreme court reversed Peter obi's impeachment. The word elected should always be used in this case to differentiate the two women. Aisha will be the first ELECTED woman governor is she makes it. Etiaba remains the first woman governor.

I see that common sense is not common at all. whether the deputy governor becomes governor for one day or week based on her boss the governor being impeached then she is the governor. so there you have it. Dame virgie etiaba was the first female governor and now Jumai hassan is the first female governor elect in Nigeria. ndi iti boli bo

  31. This debate is on going right now on nairaland. They open a tread about stella and linda, the comments are epic.

I think Linda has a warm personality like a happy person but her kind of blogging appeals to a certain cadre.
Posts about who acquired the latest what, who flaunts ish that isn't our business on Instagram, Karuesomtyn and Chris Brown, the Kardashians and a host of bunkum.
Truth be told, she is the most active blogger.
When Stella and other blogs have 5 posts, Linda will have between 10 and 15 posts.
Difference is, of Stella's 5 posts, 4 will be newsworthy. Of Linda's 15 posts, 1 and a half might make sense.
I nicely dubbed her the junk blogger of the year. grin

    1. I don't know about Linda, I read her blog once in a yl, I 100% prefer Stella cos its more matured and I don't know, I like it more. Linda also gives news also but everyone has their preferences.
I read any blog I want but I'm mostly on Stella.

I'll say Linda is kinda not plain cos she licks asses of some certain people and so she won't give news about them. That's her biz sha, its her blog, she's making money, she's blessing ppl, she'll always succeed.

  32. Congrats to her.
Is a good news for our democracy and good step but Is she going to deliver or steal more than past governors in the state
Like her governor with brain haemorrhage who refused to give way for another person even under his bad shape.
Well i guess we need to be positive and see if she will change our mindset. Our elected women nowadays are power drunk when elected into high position and they also steal even more than their male counterpart ask Diezani Alison & co.

  42. ahh this life sha, see all the PDP people that were killing themselves over PDP being better than APC this time last week all changing mouth now. How the insulted the Hausa people to no end. I expect them to be ashamed of themselves and not comment on this post because of their utterances. But they are the ones to first congratulate an elected Hausa female governor. Even the ones in PDP are decamping to APC like their lives depend on it, no loyalty whatsoever. Na wa o for people.

  43. In this case, I don't think they would have voted for and elected a woman if they didn't want her to be their Governor. They have voted for their choice so people should just accept it and stop trying to insinuate rubbish.

  44. Virginia Etiaba has never been a governor, she was a deputy governor. She only stepped in temporarily for Peter Odili when he was impeached. That is one of the functions of a deputy governor. When the governor is unavailable the deputy governor steps in.

  50. Some ppl here makes me laugh. Simple reading de can't do, go back to history, saying dt dis woman is first female governor in Nig is false. Etiaba is d first female governor, but if u talk of first female governor elected into office, den I will agree. Etiaba became d first female governor when Peter Obi was falsefully impeached just like Gej became president after Yaradua died. So when d court cleared peter Obi, she stepped down but atleast she had made history as d first female governor. So u guys should go and read ur history. Olodo's

    ReplyDelete
  51. Stella, If it is not coonfirmed, plz stop posting until INEC states so.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Congrats2her. I'm super excited abt dis. More political seats for d female folks wud do this country well.

    ReplyDelete
  53. PDP has won in Taraba!!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Leave GEJ alone out of this talk. You can see by the body language of Mr. President that he is very satisfied with the little he has done for this country and gladly ready to leave office for another man to continue which is an unprecedented good conduct for our nation's politician. Now, see others following in the foot steps of this bold step- statement. Please, discuss the issue of the female governor, leave it there and stop raising unnecessary dust. Nigeria is on the move, don't look back especial when a person has been able to put down such monumental legacy that has saved our nation. I am not a politician but I know they all rig in the on going elections now in this country. What I think playing out now is that the supposed owners or the power brokers of Nigeria "Owners of Nigeria' have simply decided to align themselves with the ideals of the jagaban himself leaving PDP where they were initially, that is why you see all these happening.
