Fayose accuses Tinubu, APC of sponsoring protests against Jonathan

Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose has claimed that most of the protests staged against former president, Goodluck Jonathan, were financed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

Fayose stated this while responding to backlash over his stand on the ‘Enough is Enough’ group, after he declared his support for the nationwide protest that will be led by singer 2face Idibia next week.

In his statement released by his media aide, Lere Olayinka, Fayose insisted that the APC used entertainment figures like 9ice, Jide Kosoko, Dayo Adeneye and Desmond Elliott to campaign against Jonathan’s administration.

He also alleged they did it in exchange for appointments and political positions.

He said: “The APC online supporters have warned Tuface against allowing opposition politicians to join the protest. The hypocrisy of these APC people is legendary!

“Anyway, for the sake of clarity, Fayose only declared support for the rally being an opposition figure! However, If Fayose is one of those bankrolling the protest, so be it!!! I want to say without any fear or favour that 90% of protests staged against Goodluck Jonathan government had financial support from Bourdillon and APC controlled states and I stand corrected.

“When Tinubu and APC Governors were bankrolling Actors and Actresses such as 9ice (Who later served as Special Adviser to APC Gov. Ajimobi in Oyo), Ronke Oshodi Oke (She’s a member of APC transition committee in Ondo), Dayo Adeneye D1 (current Commissioner for Information in Ogun State) Desmond Elliot (now a member of Lagos State House of Assembly), Jide Josoko (Veteran APC Reps Aspirant from Lagos) etc to stage protest against Jonathan’s government, heaven did not fall.

“All the aforementioned entertainers were at Freedom Park, Ojota in January 2012 for one week, singing against Jonathan in the presence of Pastor Tunde Bakare of the CPC (now APC) and Dino Melaye; and Heaven did not fall then.

“Those of you making noise today applauded anti-Jonathan protesters and the opposition politicians supporting them. The then Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi in particular gave N10 million to Occupy Naija members in Ado-Ekiti. So why should Fayose’s case be different?”

  5. Very true, it is visible to the blind and audible to d deaf that apc and tinubu bankrolled that subsidy protest. Its beats my imagination when I see educated people yapping bullshit about this protest, we are not ready to change our situation because we have allowed personal sentiments, nepotism, tribalism et al to burrow deep into our soul. I pity the youths of this nation, we are being ruled by our forefathers with their archaic mentality starting from our oga at the top and things have gone from bad to worse to caput. Dss are intimidating people trying to speak out and instead of us to speak with one voice, we are divided by sentiments. May we all receive sense this 2017 to know that we have the power to turn things around

    1. 2012 protest was highly political with the likes of Tunde Bakare. All the sermon in his church were politically motivated now he has force his dullard Fulani friend down the throat of gullible Nigerians and he's suddenly dumb

  12. Wake up my people. This guy is always chatting nonsense. Is he not a politician again? What have you accomplished as a governor? The hypocrite in you will not allow you to see that you criticise buhari for blaming jonathan for our current problems while you blame fayemi for Ekiti's current problems.

It's been 2 years now and he's still making reference to Jonathan. Why? Because he uses it to draw people to his side, knowing that some people see Jonathan as a hero and will therefore side with him.

People are against you joining the protests because you're a part of the problem. Everything is not about APC and PDP.

My people stop allowing yourselves to be influenced by people like this. Emancipate yourself from mental slavery. Take a break from entertainment, movies and sports and educate yourselves. Read about economics, business and history. Travel if you can from your Base and go and see how things are for yourself. Be your own man/woman and make your own decisions

  13. Tuface, pls don't allow any serving politician from which ever party join this protest no matter the level of support they give you in the media please. Nigerians need to see the sincerity of this protest. We are a very fragile people at the moment as our trust has been shattered by same.politicians.

  14. They can insult you or do anything they like but the fact still remains that everything you said here is true. The opposition party sponsored the 2012 subsidy removal protest. The made is look as if the were doing the right thing whereas it was all for their selfish reasons . Is pump price of fuel not #145 now ? Their hypocrisy is legendary and posterity will deal with them the way the did to Nigerians. You forgot to mention Ghenga Adeyinka that posted on his twitter that the change Nigerians needed was not the ten or twenty naira the former govt removed from the pump price of fuel, Mumu, fake Don Jazzy and other musicians. Don Jazzy and others crucified D'banji cos he was not part of the protest and the question is whether Nigerians are not worse off today and no hope of getting better cos no( good) economic policies. In today Nigeria we have better reasons to protest than ever but all those that use to be loud then are eventually deaf and dumb.Pastor Tunde Bakare are you still in Nigeria and has not said anything about the Fulani herdsmen atrocities .God will jugde each and every one of us accordingly. Note i don't support politicians cos they are selfish pple.

  19. Waoooh it will be beautiful to watch the protest. The I am for buhari and the I am not for buhari.

Shame on the ones that wants to spoil this protest match against poverty. APC have put people inside deep hole and now that God has seen people's tears, power of darkness wants to spoil it, mbanu it is not possible.

  20. Fayose has all the time in this world. Sai!

  21. No serving politician should be involved in this protest because that defeats the purpose.
The APC rallies were APC rallies and obviously sponsored by the APC. This is an independent protest and there is a huge difference! Why is this even an argument?
