MAMA IBEJI SERIES

CHILDREN CROSSING THE EXPRESSWA:

I traveled to delta State recently and I had to cross a very busy expressway to see my friend. I crossed one one side of the express and stood in the middle waiting to cross the other side, one big truck drove pass and nearly blew me away. I crossed over to my friends shop and as we got talking I asked her if she crosses the expressway everyday with her kids and she said yes. I raised hand for her because me no fit.

Not long after wards I saw primary school children crossing the same road. I mean how old are primary school children these days when at 14yrs old they are already out of secondary school.
I started screaming because at some point it was like they would get hit by a car.

I thought this only happens in Lagos.
Go Ijesha, from ijesha to lawanson you will see a 6 year old holding her siblings still carrying their lunch packs and school bags. That tiny road that fashola did, that keke and bus use to drag space.

And I begin to ask myself where did their mothers get liver from?
Was the birthing of these children so easy they don't care?
Go to mile 2 oke like you are going towards coconut, that very busy express with about 5 lanes you will see school children crossing. How do their parents have the guts to send them to a school knowing they will cross that express everyday.

The thing weak me so I decided to share. Also attached are pictures I took from the kids crossing the road in delta State.

The Iya beji 1

That does not look like an expressway..you mean highway right?Chai memories of Uniben just flooded my thoughts triggered by the red sand....GREATEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSST Uniben!

  1. So they everyday jazz /juju killing in all scenes of yoruba movie portrays your culture? Wow.. I didn't know that..
Oni of ife who is your strongest king had his phone stolen albeit all tight securities in real life and you wonder why a king in a movie is easily killed?
Like Blackie said, wasn't a Yoruba traditional ruler kidnapped in real life and yet what worries you is movies? Wasn't there a traditional ruler in Yoruba land that was killed by fulani herdsmen?? And this is what worries you?
Why not go back to school and learn instead of worrying about fictions and make believes

Wrapper with a matching blouse, handbag and shoes, gele.
If she's someone that prefers household items you can get new set of pots or change her cooker .
For your dad sha, men are somewhat selective. In my own case I had to ask Dad what he'll like and he said a mini tablet. Something he can install bible, dictionary and all that. He said he doesn't want clothes, lol.
You can add a nice wristwatch and a good bottle of wine to whatever you buy.
