  1. To be honest, I commend anyone who is fasting right now - whether Christian Or Muslim. This isn't about food. It's about dehydration. The fact that you can't drink water for several hours, is draining!! The heat, especially here in Kano is on another level!! πŸ”₯πŸ₯ΊπŸ₯²
I still marvel at the fact that some people prefer heat to cold. I raise hand for una. It can never be me. Never!....

I no just like heat biko. Plus, we dey country wey no light. Imagine scorching sun, without light to enjoy fan and AC or even to get cold water drink sef. Gaskiya there's no way I'd take heat over cold. God abeg!

    7. Can never be comfortable under heat, but one can still manage cold by covering up abeg .

    8. I prefer cold to heat SDK. There are more solutions to cold than heat, cheap ones too, especially in Nigeria. You can heat your house, you can wear thick clothes and use hot water. In the case of heat, not much options. If you are rich in Nigeria, then you will manage it well like air-conditioning in cars, offices and houses. Your refrigerator too will be on every time . All of the above require fuel or solar system since our light is zero. So you have to be rich.

    10. Heat is not an option abeg but what can we do?
Christian fast l, you can break it before 6:pm if your health or strength cannot take it.

      Delete
    11. I choose heat over cold biko. And as a Christian fasting, l drive water in between.

  2. "Welcome, fellow travelers, to this thoughtful Thursday morning, where introspection meets action and mindfulness guides our steps. Today, let us embark on a journey of self-discovery, where each moment is an opportunity to cultivate awareness and presence.

In a world bustling with noise and distraction, let us pause to listen to the whispers of our souls. Take a moment to reflect on your dreams, aspirations, and the values that define you. With each breath, invite clarity and purpose into your being, aligning your actions with your innermost truths.

Embrace the power of intentionality as you navigate through this day. Approach each task with mindfulness and attention to detail, infusing even the simplest of actions with love and care. Remember, it is not the quantity but the quality of our efforts that truly matters.

Moreover, let us extend this spirit of thoughtfulness to those around us. Take the time to connect with loved ones, lend a listening ear to those in need, and spread kindness like wildfire. For in nurturing the bonds of human connection, we foster a sense of belonging and unity.

So, as the sun rises on this thoughtful Thursday morning, may you embrace the opportunity to cultivate mindfulness, intentionality, and compassion in all that you do. Let your actions be a reflection of your deepest values, and may your day be filled with purpose, joy, and inner peace."

  3. Your Personal Study Of The Word!!
    Joshua 1:8.

"The Word of God takes you from one level of glory to another as you open up to its divine revelations. It works in you when the truth therein dawns on your spirit—when you know it and agree with God about what He said. But how can you agree with Him if you don't know what He said?"

"The Word of God is the mind of God expressed—His will written and expressed for us. Study the Word of God for yourself; understand it, speak it, and live accordingly."

    Prayer!!

Dear Father, I thank you for showing me the importance of the personal study of your Word, a vital ingredient in my Christian walk. As I study and meditate on the Word today, I'm positioned to fulfil your desire and plan for my life, and my profiting is evident, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

  5. There is no better way to celebrate the great mystery of love than to become channels through which God’s love and peace flows to others. We must allow the Sacrificial love of Christ to inform our thoughts and actions. And so, just as He has done to us, we too can wash the feet of one another and become vehicles of God’s blessings to those who we come across everyday.

Good morning Stella and blogfam.Hope we had a restful night? May God give us the grace to love others. I wish us a great day

I saw it at a tailor friend's shop and gave her money to buy it for me. It's a flat iron with wooden handle. You lower your gas very well and place it on the burner to heat up.

    Let us pray,

Almighty Father, whose dear Son, on the night before he suffered, instituted the Sacrament of his Body and Blood: Mercifully grant that we may receive it thankfully in remembrance of Jesus Christ our Lord, who in these holy mysteries gives us a pledge of eternal life; and who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Have a blessed and medicative Maundy Thursday.

  10. WORK ON GROWING CLOSER

'Rejoice with the wife of your youth.' Proverbs 5:18 NKJV

The more history you have with your spouse, the more joy and pain you've experienced. You're closer at times than others as the circumstances of life rise and fall. Yet if you did due diligence at the onset of the relationship, were clear about what you desired in a partner, and honestly evaluated who that person is, what will keep your union going forward is remembering what brought you together in the first place. What you initially enjoyed and esteemed about this person probably hasn't changed.

But for your relationship to continue to develop, you must work on growing closer. All relationships have growth areas that require pruning and fertilising. If you feel your relationship isn't what it once was, it could be that it's developing into something different. Or it could be that you need to renew your commitment to keeping it fresh and moving forward. It may be that you must work on creating the intimacy that's missing or enjoying the love you once had. The fundamentals of your mate, if they were really there in the first place, aren't likely to change. The basis of your relationship is what's important. Focusing on that makes it much easier to go with the flow of the unavoidable ups and downs of daily living.

So, do you need more time together? When you're too busy to listen, really listen, your mate thinks you don't care about them or you don't value the relationship sufficiently. Think: what would you do if your car broke down? You would take the time and pay the price to fix it!

  27. BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND

Blog Visitors if SDK Blog WAS A SECONDARY SCHOOL

GAME MISTRESS: She got wind of the DEAR KINGS extra-curricular activities after school. She makes an uninvited appearance in one of their meetings and confronts the Leaders: DANTE and TEEJAY to give the group a rest. Anyway, she stayed through the meeting and realized that the meeting no dey bad as she think. She is now cordial with the ring leader. She is very vocal during general school meetings.

RHAPSODY: Another cool, calm and collected student. She is always called upon by the principal to lead morning devotions during assemblies before BIG MAMA takes the podium to release fire brand prayers. She sometimes brings her business wares to school to sell.

ESSA: Easy going student who shares daily devotions with practical and applicable actions that can be imbibed. She only comes to school in the mornings to drop daily nuggets and leaves immediately.

MISS H: New student that joined the school but is finding popularity among other students. She is easy going and all the Muslim students like her. Hopefully she will be the school’s Ameera very soon to lead Jumm’at prayers.

BABONI: Newcomer but she vibes with other students like she has being in the school since its inception. She makes a great storyteller that keeps other students puzzled like she reincarnated. She knows all the popular jingos, naughty students e.t.c. She has vivid memories of all the former principals of the secondary school which makes one wonder if she is truly a NEWCOMER.

SIMPLY DIVINE: An active student who has done something other students like to avoid – meeting face to face regularly with the school principal. You would find her in the principal office most times but she is not a school perfect. School bursar says the principal enjoys Zeeone programmes. And because Divine loves Zeeone too, the bursar says they chat & laugh loudly about all the Zeeone characters. In class, you will find her sit quietly or humming the Zeeone theme songs or singing some Indian songs.

MYSTIC HERCULES: Another cool and calm male student. He is the school’s best swimmer and takes pride in teaching other students on how to swim. He has been named as the next school’s sport perfect whenever the school elections come up.

MISS ABOKI: One of the oldest students in class, she does not have a keen interest in academics. Like her counterpart Fan Emmanuel, you will find her playing pranks, making noise, teasing some students that tend to be uptight and not loosen up. She always look forward to break time! If you ask her what she wants to be known for, her reply is TO BE THE BEST NAIL TECHNICIAN!! WHO SCHOOL HELP. You will see her hanging out with Fidel, Fan Emmanuel after school under the Almond tree.

BV OSUNDI: Another interesting student, Agricultural Science is her best subject and she tells anyone who cares to listen that she is a RENOWED POLUTRY FARMER. She loves hanging out with Nnukwu Nwanyi and XP both during and after school to learn some native wisdom. She has tried the New Alcohol Elixir that Nnukwu Nwanyi fondly talks about and recommended by XP.

EESAH: He is different things to different people. He is known as the School’s Babalawo Herbal Sultan, he has a thriving poultry business and has an almost obsessive interest in politics. He likes to dress like an Emir or Sultan to school even though he has been warned to always wear the school uniform. He does not have many friends but he is okay with that. He has just one junior student that loves following him around – you can guess who?

KING JERRY: Popularly known as the SCHOOL CLOWN. During free period or any school talent show, he never fails to entertain students with his relatable and animated jokes (which are sometimes cleverly racy). All the students love him however some naughty students feedback is that he should take it easy with the GBAGAUNS (Well nobody is above mistake). He is most times called upon to be the SCHOOL MC which has endeared him to a female student – ZARAM.

Life gets a little easier and more fun when you stop trying to prove yourself to people and situations. When you know who you are, your worth, the right things and people will gravitate towards you effortlessly. Normalize being okay with letting people think whatever they want about you. The idea that we will be liked, validated, or approved by everybody is an illusion. Our mental health, peace and happiness is more important that other's acceptance, opinions or perceptions of us.

Sometimes you become an evil person just because you stood up for yourself. One thing I have learned in life is that you will never change people. All the back and forth hoping they just see your perceptive or hear you out or even compromise won't change anything at all. People are set in who they are . If they change, it will be for them never for you. You write your own story, they write theirs. So let it go and break free. Let them make you a villain. If you know yourself, then it doesn't matter. Keep being yourself.

At 3.am, I washed the kids uniforms and spinned with the machine, bathed and prepared to go to the dentist.. I left home at 5.30am. Locked the door and threw the key to the balcony while he was still sleeping.

  37. Let me call it a thoughtful Thursday .
Was just thinking about My life and all.... Saying to Myself I know I'm not where I'm supposed to be but then, I'm still grateful to God for Life.
So long as there's life, there's still hope. I'm not better than My mates that are no more .
    Thoughtful Thursday
