Family Of 3 Perishes Over Husbands Infidelity Accusation

Abia State Police Command has confirmed one Mr Udochi Amala, his wife, Mrs. Amala and their 2-year-old daughter dead after Mr Amala set their house on fire over allegations of infidelity...


This was made known by the Police Public Relations Officer of Abia Command, DSP Maureen Chinaka.

According to her, the incident which happened in Asa Umudioka autonomous community in Osisioma Ngwa LGA of Abia State, was reported to the Police Divisional Headquarters in Osisioma by the head of Asa Umudioka vigilante group on 16/05/2025.

She explained that the head of the community vigilante group had reported that the group heard a loud scream and upon arrival at scene, saw fire coming out from the house of one Mr. Udochi Amala, who resides in the area.
According to her, Mr. Amala repeatedly accused his wife of indulging in infidelity and in response, set himself and his family who were inside the house on fire, leading to the tragic death of their 2-year-old daughter.

She added that detectives from Osisioma Division promptly visited the scene of incident and recovered the corpse of the child and deposited it the morgue.

The police spokesperson continued: “Mr. Amala’s wife, who sustained critical burns, was rushed to the hospital, while the suspect, Mr. Amala who also sustained injuries, was arrested and taken to the same hospital for treatment.

“However, on 17/05/2025, both Mr. Udochi Amala and his wife, who were receiving medical attention, were confirmed dead by the hospital.”

  9. If only people accept that you cannot OWN another human being, whether your spouse or not. You cannot control another person. God gave us all free will, and if your spouse exercise their free will, you must let them and let go. Don't allow anger make you kill someone cos they didn't live up to your expectations.

  19. Shey we were talking about mental health issues a while ago? This is one of the signs, and some people were saying the statistics are exaggerated, that it only happens in the West! How many of such stories do we read in a week here in naija? There lies your answer!
