Saudi Arabian authorities have announced sightings of the Dhul Hijjah crescent, which means, pilgrimage will start on June 4, while the day of Arafah will fall on June 5. According to Arab News, the announcement was made on Tuesday.


President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has asked the National Assembly for approval to implement three types of borrowing to finance government projects in view of dwindling financial constraints.  About seven people have been killed in an attack in Mushere community of Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State. The attack, it was, learnt happened on Tuesday night. Sources said it was a fall out of Monday’s attack/kidnap attempt which led to the death of a pastor, and another attack on a Fulani settlement.

. Gunmen have reportedly shot dead two herders and injured a vigilante guard at a Fulani settlement in Mawogi II village under Gawu, Abaji area council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Ibrahim Yakubu, a local security guard, said the incident happened in the early hours of Tuesday.

 An Abuja High Court sitting at Garki, on Tuesday, ordered the arrest of the Director of Investigations and Prosecution of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, Mr. Joseph Eriki, over his alleged involvement in a land fraud. Justice Suleiman Belgore issued a bench warrant against the FCTA boss, following his failure to appear before the court to enter his plea to a nine-count charge the Federal Government L preferred against him and 11 others.

 Operatives of the National Agency For Food And Drug Administration And Control, NAFDAC, have uncovered an uncompleted building in Azagba-Ogwashi, Aniocha South LGA, Delta State, where a couple allegedly relabel and repackage expired injectables. The injectables include gentamicin 280 miligram which they said had been banned over 10 years ago, chloroquine phosphate 332mg 5 miligram, egometrine injection and unidentified injectables

The National Emergency Management Agency has confirmed that the explosion that rocked Abuja on Monday afternoon was a result of a suicide bombing attempt. NEMA, in a statement released on Tuesday, disclosed that the incident occurred when someone wearing an improvised explosive device (IED) attempted to infiltrate the Mogadishu Army Cantonment along the Mararaba-Nyanya expressway.

 The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), on Tuesday, confirmed the death of one adult male while several were still trapped in a building collapse in the Ikorodu area of the state. The LASEMA Permanent Secretary, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, who made this known in a statement, said they got a distress alert from the area.

Eight candidates of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination abducted by pirates along the Bille waterways in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers States have been rescued after spending 21 days in captivity. The victims were rescued on Monday evening by a local security outfit, the Royal Fouchee Security Services, popularly known as the Amama Soldiers.
