Hiv needs a human host cos it can't survive outside it's host. So contacting it through food is not possible
Also the use of toothbrush, till the day I got tested, my husband has this annoying habit of using my toothbrush and I always complain but he doesn't care, he'll say he uses anyone his hand touched.
I stopped keeping my toothbrush close to his cos of this. For you to contact it from toothbrush, though very rare cos toothpaste contains some chemicals that kills the virus, you have to be brushing together as in you'll be using it to brush at the same time simultaneously and both of you must have cut or bleeding in the mouth....
This doesn't mean one should be negligent, but it's a very rare mode of transmission. You can Google this, one can easily contact any other diseases apart from hiv from sharing toothbrushes, it's not even hygienic but most of the stories we hear about people contacting hiv through brush is not always true
Saliva also can't transmit hiv, cos hiv can't survive in saliva, the saliva contains some enzyme that kills it you can check this on Google too.
No need running away or stigmatising cos hiv doesn't just jump and enter people...
