Gov Oshiomole Tells Widow ''You Are Free To Go And Die....''

Two wrongs do not make a right, especially when one person is standing on his feet and the other down at their lowest and crying.

I don't know what this woman alleged to be a widow did that the governor of Edo state treated her with such disdain and told her she is free to go and die.

The woman crying and begging for Mercy did not even move Oshiomole at all .

Her tears and wailing also brought me to tears....I weep for the poor and derelict in our society because there is really no hope for them with what this video shows.

I hope Governor Oshiomole pats himself on the back if and when he gets to watch this video.

To anyone who will come here to defend his action, just remember that there is God that listens to the cry of the poor and his name is JEHOVA ELSHADAI,JEHOVA NISSI,JEHOVA ADONAI,JEHOVA ......He listens.

Oh God please rescue that woman from her poverty ridden state and remove her shame...the disgrace the governor made her feel on that roadside turn it into her boulevard of miracles.

I don't need to tell anyone that i am angry,my rantings on this post shows it...

If anyone knows this woman or how i can contact her, please email me her info..please.

    7. Sentiments is why Nigeria doesn't progress. A country where family members of a rapist will tell the judge what if it was your brother will you send him to jail. How will his children feed etc.
The govnor might have been taken out of context or he spoke angrily like we all do.
Look everyone is a widow when u want to get out of trouble. Her husband sef will see her on tv and say sho I don die?
It doesn't make it right for him to say that though. Respect is key. What we need in Nigeria are people like US police officers that will be calling you SIR while writing you speeding ticket. But again you people will come and say haba it's heartless to write widow speeding ticket. And we say country no progress.

My take on it is even if she was actually selling, fine, he would have just walked away even if he had to seize her goods but to wish some1 death...what can he create

  5. That was just callous. What was her crime ?

The woman said she just got off a bus and wasn't hawking on the road. This correlates with the fact that her goods are still packed in boxes; not exactly how you go out hawking but idìotic Oshi-omo-ole was too eager to flex his political muscles without even listening to her.

This is where we need the media to come in with different stations playing this clip over and over again, that's the sort of thing that draws more and more public attention to the stupìd acts these politicians commit and at some point they will be forced to always be on their toes and act right.

    Oshi, what an áss

I cant get my head around how people who were hitherto part of the struggle can do a 360 and forget their roots and background.
I'd lost all hope a long time ago so my comment is not because I am surprised.

They say don't do whatever for the sake of everyone, yet one person starts again bcos na they know pass and the floodgates reopen. Sometimes it's only violence and wickedness our people understand. This is unfortunately the harsh truth, then others see and the practise stops bcos of fear! HOWEVER,justice must be tempered with mercy, and these people were completely merciless and inhuman! 54. A few posts earlier, we were all confessing to the angry things we've said in the heat of anger which we later regretted. We are all guilty of having said something we shouldn't have. The governor is human and can make mistakes.

Every politician's move in Naija is over sensationalised to score cheap political points. Oshiomhole goofed by not choosing his words carefully but its not enough to write him off as wicked, uncaring or evil. He's a performing governor but allowed his anger to overwhelm him. Nigerians' lawlessness is enough to make anyone in authourity mad.

He should apologise to the woman and rehabilitate her.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Oshiomhole should not have said that. However, you need to meet some of these women to know how they are. Benin market women are a different breed. Anyone can claim to be a widow, you know. I have seen many do this. If the bus truly stopped her there, was it up to an hour before the governor and co came? Were her things so much that she could not call a wheel barrow pusher to carry them? That looks like a strategically positioned walkway. I see EDSTM officials there. Buses don't stop in such areas especially on Monday mornings which is market sanitation day.

I agree with you Brianna Addison, lets take a minute and think, if she was truly hawking, should she be allowed to break an existing law because she is a widow? what happened to equality before the law? Sometimes I think people are just not sure of what they want, if we want Nigeria to be a better place like we all say, then let us be objective in our judgements. Governor Oshomole used a harsh word when he said" go and die" no doubt about that, but let us not forget that what he tried to do was to ensure that the law was being obeyed. Fellow Nigerians, wake up and address issues without sentiments.
