''I want to use this platform to address as many women who are being abused, i used to be part of the band wagon that advocated that women should try to make marriage work no matter the circumstance( including physical and emotional abuse). However all that has changed. I will like to share a true life story, a lady in bauchi state had lived with her husband who is a school teacher for more than 20 years, in this 20 years the husband has been physically abusing her and she had tried everything to hold her tongue, she learnt his likes and dislikes, his moods and all yet the beating never stopped.
it was after this man started beating her kids and she stood up to him and he threw her into a well……..that was she started making plans to leave .
she planned to leave with her three kids in 2014 but on 28th December 2013 this man had warned his son against walking with some of his friends which the father termed bad boys, on catching the boy with the said friends he locked the boy in a room and after hours he came back him and started beating this boy mercilessly, he beat his son for hours till the mother got courage to break the door, she held the son but by this time the boy was already weak from the beating!
This man still went ahead to look for a big plank and continued beating the two of them till the boy died. The man is currently being held in the Bauchi state CID. The boy( very brilliant in SS2)was buried on the 30th December.
it was after the burial that this woman finally opened up to everyone that the man had been beating them up for years and that he ties the children hands and legs and beats them up.
The moral lesson I want us all to learn is that we are only sure of today, if you are in an abusive relationship the right time to leave is now!
Get out and get help! Forget about how people will laugh at you!

This is not the average domestic violence I dare say.
For a man to beat not only his wife but his own kids until he beat his own son to death.. that's beyond human.
The bible frowns on divorce, so I guess that's why many women think they should just try and endure, does that mean even in the face of imminent death, one must still sit put? I don't think so.
May God give this lady the strength determination and courage she needs to move on with her life .

ReplyDeletei was a stubborn boy while growing up and i was caned in secondary school nevertheless having known better now i and even my parents realise it does not change anything and is counter productive in the long run..thank God i did not spend more than 3 yrs in that God forsaken school before going private where we were not caned.

God said he would fight your battles and you would hold your peace... Has the Lord ever lost a battle? Pls dont drive yourself to depression cos your mental stability could also determine the court's decision. I know its hard but the best you can do now is to pray abt the safety of your kids while dragging Mr dino to the court of the Almighty and see whose judgement shall stand. As long as you stay sooooo hurt den Dino's mission has been accomplished rather stay strong (you are their mother a rare one at dat, nobody can take your place. NEVER) please continue to sette dis on your knees.
Ideally, the woman should have custody of the kids depending on their age and some other factors.

Society still frowns on female divorcees and so they stay and put up with s**t for years! And only leave usually when they are shown death's door by their abuser. It's really quite sad.
