Governor Fashola's Ban On Dress Code To Civil Servants........Yay Or Nay?

Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola’s administration has banned indecent dressing among female and male public servants at the Lagos State Government Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja.
A directive has been sent out to this effect.

I don't know about you but i think Fashola has no right to tell adults how they should dress, that is an abuse of other peoples right..if anyone decides to dress in a certain way that is comfortable for them, that is their business…I really don't think it was as bad as the directive made it sound..

Do you agree with Fashola's directive?..

Governor Fashola,i am sending this seat your way,if you don't have anything better to do,please sit down on it and relax.

  1. I think it's a good thing. There is time for everything. if you are going to club, dress as you like but when going to work dress decent. My opinion.

    1. Please, they are grown ups! They should have the right to wear what they deem fit! Are they in primary school or what? This is an infringe on human right Sir, we are not under Gadafi's regime. I say a big NEIN to this directive.

    4. It is "YAY" for me. To be honest, the way our ladies dress now to work is so indecent. There is time and season for everything nah, Haba! Even the Europeans that we are trying to copy has seasons and weather that suits their dressing most of the time. But trust our 9ja ladies to wear "bum short" during rainy season and leather jackets and pants during sunny season.....pschewwww!

      It is well.

    5. Indecent dressing doesn't portray good upbringing and decency, had something to do at LASAA some weeks back, was shocked what the front desk officer wore. As a man, i didn't like it at all. It's supposed to be formal and corporate but the skirt was rather too mini. I agree with Fashola.

  4. If there is a clothing allowance to go with this, then no problem. If not, let him relax on Stella's seat. Stella, u should have given him d other seat, cos he may sleep off on this one.

  5. I hate it when peeps says "u can wear anything u like if u are comfortable wid it".Certain human being ar like animals.Infact,sm are worst than animals in nature & characters.Hence ppl must be cautioned if nt tamed.
If decency and sanity is nt maintained on d bases of *am comfortable or *Right of expression, one day ppl esp females wl wake up and wear rags to work.

  9. Its good o. Majority of Alausa ladies are sluts. I believe the situation might have gone out of hand for the laws to have been made.
And its not a matter of money that determines whether you dress decently or not. Its an organisation for crying out loud and there should be code of conduct for sanity to reign. All for d better jare. At least our hubby's eyes will rest for breast chooking.

  11. yay, people should dress professional, to work. My lawd have you seen some of the clothes these ladies wear to work? it would make a prostitute blush. I do not see anything wrong with what fashola wrote, if people want to dress comfortable stay home. after all hilary clinton wrote this same memo, to all white house staff, when she was a first lady. she atually sent some ladies home to change. So it is no big deal, especially with a lot of sexual harrassment in the work place in nigeria.

  13. I say yay! The way some women dress these days to work is very embarrassing and they will be the 1st to shout that they are being sexually harassed when they are the ones who send wrong signals to those randy men.
If you are going to work please dress smart and professional. When you are at home you can be naked for all I care.
I wish they will also ban indecent dressing in plublic places like the malls etc.

  15. There is nothing wrong in stipulating a dress code , since many mothers do not respect themselves these days. Rose

  17. What's this Stella saying? Sometimes the way you reason leaves much to be desired.

It's a workplace and there are rules. Owned and Operated by the Govt or not, at the end of the day, it is a corporate environment.

You don't just waltz into your workplace dressed anyhow you deem fit. How many private concerns can they try that shit?
