President Goodluck Jonathan has appointed the former aide-de camp to Maryam Abacha and Assistant Inspector General of Police Zone 7 as the new Inspector General of Police. 
He is to replace Mohammed Dahiru Abubakar who has attained the maximum of 35 years in service ....shegejagwa!

New e-passport takes effect on Friday. 
President Jonathan on Wednesday officially launched Nigeria's new 64 page e passport. The new e-passport will take effect from Friday August 1, 2014.

New York Times responds to Jonathan. 
The New York Times in an article called " Goodluck Nigeria" accused president Goodluck Jonathan of playing newspaper column diplomacy with the fate of the 200 abducted Chibok girls. The newspaper condemns the presidents media loquacity in contrast to the evident lack of commitment to tackle the insurgency shown by the president's attitude government. 




MASSOB calls for mass return of Igbo from the north 
Chief Ralph Uwazuruike the leader of the movement for the actual ideation of the sovereign state of Biafra ( MASSOB )yesterday gave the last warning call to all Igbo resident in the northern part of Nigeria to leave. 




US : Nigerias inner drive is quelling insurgency. 
The United States department of state in religious freedom recently released a report stating that Nigeria has not acted swiftly and effectively in quelling communal or religious based violence. It also states that the government has failed to train and equip it's troops to effectively combat religious based terrorism like Boko haram. 



900 SSS operatives in Osun for elections 
The department if state security (DSS) has deployed 900 fully armed operatives to oshogbo ahead if the August 9 governorship elections. These operatives ( ladies included) who were heavily armed were spotted in osogbo on Tuesday and Wednesday patrolling in Toyota hiace buses and and Hilux vans. 




Army gets new uniforms. 
The chief of army staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Kenneth Minimah has announced that the army will be changing its uniform. The new uniform which will be sewn by the Nigerian army tailoring unit in Yaba Lagos Nigeria are expected to be more uniform and to differentiate the army corps from impostors. As well as make it difficult to copy it's design. .....story,give the copycats a few hours to study the design.



Chibok parents and the NGN 22.4m

Dauda Ilya a spokesman for the Kibaku area development association (KADA) the organization that arranged for the meeting with the president has informed that the 51 girls who escaped were given NGN 100,000 each while the 51 parents of 61 who visited were given NGN 200,000 each as the money did not go round. ..who gave the money and for what purpose?this is peanuts..and didnt Reuben Abati deny it?na siddon look we dey oh.

A pair of suspect Boko haram members have been arrested Wednesday by security forces for traveling with a 10 year old girl strapped with explosive devices


Cameroonian forces free minister's wife
Cameroonian security forces have successfully rescued wife of prime minister Amadou Alli who was kidnapped by Boko haram on Sunday along with the traditional ruler of Kolofata town. 16 lives were lost in the rescue operation. 



FG says female suicide bombers not chibok girls

The Federal Government, Wednesday, took steps to douse anxiety over the possibility that Boko Haram insurgents are using the abducted Chibok girls as female suicide bombers.
Female bombers have carried out series of attacks on Kano city in the last five days, fuelling fears that those involved could be some of the girls being held by the terrorists.




Ekiti tribunal approves PDP’s request to inspect election materials - 
The Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Ado Ekiti, yesterday granted the prayers of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,  and the governor-elect, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, to allow the party inspect all the electoral materials used for the June 21 governorship election in Ekiti State.
The tribunal had last week granted similar prayers of the All Progressives Congress, APC, by INEC to allow the party to inspect the materials in its custody.
APC is contesting the declaration of Fayose as the winner of the governorship .
poll, alleging that the election was rigged.








Pastor, woman nabbed after ‘sanctified water’ kills 2  
A man, said to be a pastor, and a woman are in Police net in Asaba, the Delta State capital for allegedly killing two children with a deadly substance sold by the pastor for N1,850.
The Delta State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Celestina Kalu, in a release, said the suspects are in custody helping the police with relevant information.
According to Kalu, “on July 25, at about 4.00 am, the Police at Abraka Police Station received information that awoman, Ese Oghenevwe (25), of Urhuoka quarters, Abraka had killed her two sons namely, Prayer Clement (9 months) and Wisdom Clement ( 2 years) by giving them a liquid substance to drink.
