He said the reason why he can't marry me is because i dated a guy he knows. Mean while i dated the guy in 2007 but just becus they happen to be in d same club now, he said he doesnt want to come out with his wife n realise that a guy in his club has dated the wife. Most men, even ladies can't stand the fact that their friend or colleague was once their partner's lover. It's just the simple truth.
Some feel threatened. Some even become so jealous and paranoid when you as much as exchange greetings with that ex. Some of those ex can even try to spite your current partner by telling him or others some very private things about you.
It can be very embarrassing and annoying.
Mind you, I'm not supporting what your ex did to you. Just trying to make you see things from his own side.
But it's still not a very good excuse for your ex to dump you. I'm sure he would feel bad if you had done same to him.
Anyway, shit happens.
He is truly not yours like you said and he didn't love you enough. True love conquers all.
So if by chance he meets or find out he knows his new wife's ex, will he divorce her because of that?

This is one of the reasons I preach no sex in relationships, especially the ones that you are not yet certain is leading to the alter. Uni students be warned and others who have casual sex with every every and call it love should be warned. It's a small world we live in.
No sex in relationships makes it easier to move on when or if you break up. It also helps you to avoid awkwardness when and if you happen meet again in the future.
Most importantly, our future partners won't feel threatened if they also happen to meet/ know our ex.
I have a very good relationship with my first bf uptill now because we never as much as kissed while our relationship lasted.
I don't call him but he calls me once in a while and we talk freely. He even seeks my advice in his relationship issues and he holds me in very high esteem.
This was someone who didn't take it well when I broke up with him many years back because he wanted to cross the boundary and break our agreement.
I'm still able to relate with him now without hubby or his gf feeling threatened because our relationship didn't involve sex and I'm proud of myself for that.
This should serve as a lesson to all esp ladies. We are always at the receiving end.
