VIRGIN BORN WITHOUT A HYMEN?
Good day to you...I am a regular visitor to your blog and I have found many topics of discussion very educative. You have created a forum in which concerns are aired without the usual associated shame that occurs in the real world. I have followed many of the recent topics concerning women and their virginity.
I feel so sorry for myself because I didnt get to experience any of the account that ladies on this blog gives as regarding loosing their virginity.
I am a a lady in my late thirties and I am happily married with kids. I became sexually active after my secondary school while waiting for university admission. Ever since, I have had series of boyfriend before finally married. My issue is that at no time In my years was I ever a virgin.
At my first and subsequent lovemaking, I didnt experience any difficulty or bleeding. This has caused me silent pain when I hear people talking of virginity. I kept this to myself for years until recently when my elder sister who is married too told me that she didnt bleed or had any pain at her first sexual encounter too..and she has hid these fact within herself for almost twenty years.
She actually told me that she thought she was a virgin on her wedding day as she never had anything with anyone until her wedding night.Lo and behold..her husband went in in a free sailing..she said she was surprised. This caused trust problem between her and the husband at the beginning of marriage as the hubby consider her a liar.
Madam Stella! my request is that I want to know whether the doctors in the house can clarify if its possible for one to be born without hymen. I still want to know whether there are other blog visitors who have heard of such experience from friends or relatives: or who experience such by themselves. Its good to know one isnt alone.

The hymen usually does not cover the entire vaginal opening, since there must be some way for the menstrual fluid, or period flow through or to leave the body. So probably yours and that of your sister is either not thick or very light or its absent. And since you and your sister probably never had, I suppose it might be hareditary in your family.

My cousin had the same experience. Though I suspect hers was due to sexual abuse by mom's domestic help when we were very young. She stayed with us in Bida for a while before she moved to the south with her parents.

Lastly maybe there is a medical condition where some girls are born without a hymen since it's the same case with your sister.
Personally I would not worry too much about it look on the brighter side atleast you conceived and had healthy children.

ReplyDeleteMy elder sister started her period at 9 and by 11 something was up with her can't really remember, was quite young then and I recall that she and my mum went to the doctor for a test, now I know it was Pap test and I remember when we came back from the hospital my mum just kept staring at my sister all day, like my sister had committed a sin or something like that. She reported to an Aunty,narrating the doctor's visit and it was that one that said "sister cool down, I didn't have too" and my mum kept on asking are you sure.It was when I grew older and my sis told me she had no ounce of pain during her first rendezvous before I was able to piece two and two together about what the issue was back then.

DeleteWhat I do know is that all females are born with hymens. In youth (before any sexual intercourse/foreplay etc) the hymen can break due to vigorous exercise. These exercises could be horseback riding, gymnastics, even doing regular ol' splits! It all depends on how thick or thin the hymen is. So if as a child, you or your sister were very playful girls who used to climb trees, ride bicycles, generally just PLAY, there is a possibility that your hymens broke. Your older sister's husband who had no difficulty entering her and accused her of being a liar is just uneducated and mean. Don't knock yourself up about this too much, ok?

DeleteI'm glad this was brought up. This is my first comment on this blog. Studies have shown that about 25% of women were not born with a hymen. This however doesn't make them any less the virgins they are. I happen to fall into these category of women.
ReplyDeleteThe hymen is a thin (very thin) flesh covering the opening of the vulva. If you take part in any strenuous activity, or even use tampons, the hymen could tear. I personally think that virginity is a thing of the heart. Not all women are born with a hymen.

But we later learnt that if a lady is active in sports like high jump ,long jump or sprinting ,horse riding .This.there's is a high chance that the hymen would have broken in the process of doing these sports .I was very active in sports so I guess that's why . It still hurts me that I don't have that experience as well. In fact I still thought about it yesterday .but it's all good. we just have to count our lose and move on.

In my own case I think it's because I already lost my virginty as a child in the playground I fell of a swing and fell so hard I was bleeding from down there I did not know what was going on people had to call my parents to came as I went to play by myself, I can still remember my step mum asking me if a boy touch me? If I did anything with a boy many many questions but the truth is I had a big fall as so I lost it about age 8 or 9. This is the case for many young children especially the ones that attended gymnastics there can pop thein cherry at anytime.

Gymnastics, etc. I suspect my hymen got broken at a tender age thus no bleeding and painful sex the first time. I also remember one time in the hospital as a kid. The doctor inserted a finger inside me and I screamed. He withdrew at that point. My mother was standing beside him so I don't feel like I was assulted. I feel bad too when I have no stories to tell when I lost my virginity. But what can I do?

And it is over the vagina on the outside which most young girls don't seem to understand and a lot of grown women apparently never learned either. So even vigorous scratching or exploration by a girl of her privates as a small child can break it. A tampon often breaks it. Some girls dont' realize fingers break it too. As far as athletics, it has to do with the legs coming apart far enough that the hymen gets stretched to the point of breaking.

I've disvirgined 4 grls 1 was loose and easy sailing but the hymen was intact... I just pushed hard and it broke there was bleeding, 2nd was very tight but no bleeding 3rd and 4th were both tight and there was bleeding

My hymen isnt still completely broken, if I go three days without sex, penetration isn't easy, whenever I go about 2-3mths without, I'm like a virgin again (for real). My hubby says if I were to meet someone, I could lie I am a virigin and get away with it. It is very possible to be born without hymen. Everyone was created differently, that's the bottom line of the story.
