I have heard of this but I have never seen it.So yesterday I watched "Maami" ,that Yoruba film. Jeez,I cried throughout that DH was amazed. He asked if I was crying because of any other thing,I said no. It was that bad.

    1. What a coincidence. Watched Maami last night as well and I cried almost throughout the movie . Especially when Kashy offered to do chores so his mum could get aso-ebi . Also when the people in the market gave them food stuff to celebrate his birthday. There's a yoruba saying that has been reverberating through my mind since then; ''Orisa bi iya ko si" . Literal translation " There's no god like one's mother" . I could relate with the movie as I've been through something similar with my kids but I thank God that my situation has improved significantly. The icing on the cake for me was when my first son compared me to Funke Akindele. That means all my labour and sweat to take care of him and his sibling were noted and appreciated. Sorry didn't mean to rant or bore you with my ish

  31. Had a wonderful time yesterday. We killed our ram and the caterer made jollof rice, moi moi, vegetable and semo. Folks know we always have a New Year party so people visited us. Friends, family and well wishers. I didn't really eat much, but I drank champagne and slept like a baby. The only sad part was that PHCN held on to power and we had to make use of the generating set throughout. We watched movies, but Arsenal dampened my mood by losing. Mschewwwww. Anyway, I had mad fun and even danced shoki, lol. My eldest brother's wife laughed so hard she spilled her drink. She told me, Aunt Yomi, honestly you are a clown. My brother opened his mouth and was like, what the hell did you just dance? My younger sister, in spite of her health issues, also danced shoki and she danced it so well. Been a while I had so much fun. Wish it didn't end. Life is beautiful, folks. May it never end.

  86. Jan 1st was da bomb! I didn't go for the vigil but I went for mass in the morning with my family. We were all gorgeously dressed. From church, we went out for brunch at a hotel. The food was so good. It was a buffet. Lemme list everything I tasted: Chicken pepper soup with buttered bread rolls for starters. Then I had two main courses: vegetable salad, coleslaw, carved turkey, ham, sausage, hot dog, cheddar cheese. This was for the first main course. The second main course meal consisted on the following: jollof rice, chinese fried rice, shredded beef sauce, chicken casserole, spaghetti and corned beef, macaroni (All these were in small amounts). Dessert was pineapple, watermelon, chocolate swiss role and german coffee cake. Then I drank Chapman to top it all. That was wonderful. Then we took pics and came home. I rested till evening.
