Nigerian Football Federation mourns as Super Eagles coach Musa Abdullahi passes on


Ex-coach of the Nigerian Super Eagles, Musa Abdullahi passed away on Sunday January 25, 2015.



Abdullahi coached the Nigerian under 17 and 20 teams (Golden Eaglets & Flying Eagles) he was also the assistant coach of the under 23 Olympic team. In the local league, Abdullahi managed Dolphins football club of Port Harcourt.


Abdullahi had a bout of sicknesses in the past,and at a stage was said to have suffered from Meningitis. He also suffered stroke prior to the U-20 World Cup in 2007 and was partially paralysed.

“Coach Musa Abdullahi was known by all who came across him as a gentleman to the core, a very humble, highly dedicated and tireless professional who had real passion for the job. He was just a likeable person in every respect.We feel very, very sad to lose him but God loves him more and he has gone to rest. Our prayer is for Almighty God to grant him peaceful rest and also grant the family he has left behind the fortitude to bear the huge loss " NFF president Amaju Pinnick said.

    To think that he was bedridden for seven years before he finally passed on......smh the NFA should do something like a health Insurance scheme for these sport legends

    Their level of neglect is nothing to write home about

    A former goalkepper of the super eagles Agbonavbare(not so sure about the spelling) is also suffering from cancer.
