Chroncie Of HOPE 14

Some of you need to read this story....

''I sing beause i am happy.....
I sing because i am free....
His eye is on the sparrow....

IT MAY TARRY BUT GOD NEVER FAILS.....

Dear Stella,
I don't know how else to say I Love you! But I truly truly do. You're a blessing and so far you have created an impact, Your blogging style is amazing! Keep up your good works dearie!
I have been wanting to send you this mail for quite a while, "I nor know why fear dey catch me" lol but here's my story and my testimony.

A year ago, I was just rounding up with my project and school work and I called my mom. She sounded down said she had pneumonia, I thought it was just a small issue told her to see her doc and take all her meds and she would be fine. My dear that's how the whole thing started o!

I came back home after I was done with school, I was shocked to see my mom! She had lost so much weight! I called my dad( he used to work in Abuja then) and told him I that I didn't understand this whole sickness, My mom was always weak, didn't have any appetite and was always coughing. My dad then called one of my uncle he's  a pharmacist .

‎He in turn asked us to bring her to the hospital. That's where all our problems intensified. Because of the constant coughing they ran a TB test on her and it came out negative, But the Doctor said she was on antibiotics which could make the test read negative, That's how he placed my mom on TB drugs! My mom started getting weaker and weaker, won't eat anything. All her muscles became stiff she could no longer bath herself, could no longer get up without assistance, and if I complained of her weight dropping earlier she went from a 70-50kg real quick!

Next check up they ran another Tb test and still it read negative, the doc still continue with the new set of Tb drugs. My mom would always complain that she didn't like the way the drug made her feel but we were just encouraging her to take it, finally after almost 4months and they saw that she was seriously getting worse they decided to refer us, alas all the govt hospitals where on strike.

So they referred us to military hospital Yaba. I can't forget that day, We went to about 4 different hospitals before they accepted my mom at yaba. Her feet was swollen, she was seriously pale had to be taken in with a wheel chair. We were so lucky, the consultant was just about to leave when we brought her in.

One look at her and Took a look at her history file and said whoever was treating this woman for Tb when all test read Negative was an idiot!..he was like this woman had all the symptoms of someone who's going into cardiac arrest!

Immediately they asked us to go pay for bed wrote, out drugs etc.....My dad went out to pull money with his Atm card and as if the devil was at work his atm card got stuck in the machine and banks where closed already!

Well we used my card and made payments. Then they told us to go get the drugs. I got to the pharmacy and gave the Lady the prescription. After looking at it for a while she asked who was my patient, I said my mom, she looked at it again and started costing. Gave me a bill of N110,680 hehe. Well I asked her to give me enough to last a day or two then I would come back the next day for the rest. Nice woman she took her time gave me all I required and I went back to the ward. I stayed with my mom for 21days at the hospital and everyday she was taking drugs which cost About 30k roughly.Imagine 30k for 21days?!

I barely slept! Relatives just stayed outside the ward, a few times there would be a few empty beds and the nurses would allow us sleep there ,we would wake up before 4/5am cos we relatives had to bath outside cos we weren't allowed to use patient bathroom.

She was given a referral later to Luth after she had been successfully managed they needed her to see a specialist in respiratory unit. Well the hospitals were still on strike. We kept going for her checkups and kept up with her drugs‎. She wasn't perfect yet but at least she was alive.

Fast-forward to January,2015 the whole harmattan season totally messed up her system, she couldnt even breathe properly. We called the consultant and he asked us to bring her, We went for a few more tests MRI,Ct scan,Digital x-ray etc, these weren't cheap oo! He then said we could now go to LUTH that the docs would be able to see her. We went to LUTH, they saw her and said they would have admitted her but that nurses are still on strike, they just gave us drugs and another appointment date.

On the 3rd appointment nurses where back to work so she was admitted. This is where my testimony begins my mom who couldnt get up from the bed herself started getting up ooh! Physiotherapy and Cardio unit where managing her, she could walk a bit without getting breathless, slowly slowly she was getting better....

There was this test they asked us to do initially EMG of the 4limbs, we went to find out the price and it cost 180,000. That she started getting up and walking well and they automatically cancelled that test.

She's been discharged, she's been going for her appointments, Today my mom can Bath herself, Cook and a few days back she even surprised us all by sweeping the house and washing the toilet and bathroom, the amount of food she eats now ehn! No be here!

Like my sister would say " God go say make him answer una! Una don too disturb am" lol.

All through January I was on a fasting programme 21days, and all my prayers were solely for my mom, I kept declaring She wouldn't die, I told God that it wasn't my covenant with him. Everyone in my house was on different different programmes, different fasting and finally God answered us! Dried every single tear.

So this is for someone out there fighting one battle or the other, The Lord will surely surely answer your prayers, It might take a day, a week, a month or a year but when the Lord works it's always worth the wait!

Thank God for restoring your mum to good health,I can imagine what you people went through.
Thank God!.
I Love you too......

    3. But some Doctors could b very stupid O. They use experience to test patients. They would hav killed Ur mum, if u had not refered her to another hospital. I thanks God for her life. Ppl die everyday because of their presoppositions and lackaidaisical attitudes towards patients and research. I'm sure that's part of what killed people during the Ebola epidermic days, because of one seemingly usual symptom, they conclude and already have a cure... Hehn Hehn, fake doctors, dearis God Oh... All this blood you are sharing...

Thank God she is alive O..#Godwin.

    2. My dear, whatever will happen will happen, irrespective of who is with her or not with her. It is only God that watches over us. And besides, every family situation is different. You don't know the circumstances that surround the poater's...so don't blame her father's absence. And besides, when God wants to work, HE takes ALL the glory without the involvement of ANYONE. It was God that intervened tru her daughter by making her available at the crucial moment. So the hand of God is still what has made her whole again.

I know God will honour your labour of love and unleash the flood gates of blessings on you. One day when you get married, you'll have children whom will take care of you and make you a proud momma.

      P.S
It's refreshing to read chronicles ‎of hope such as this. The women Vs men, boyfriend vs girlfriend, hubbies Vs wives drama we get to read about on daily basis, tend to make us forget that it doesn't have to be marriage or relationship related for us to appreciate the so called "little mercies" we take for granted. Thanks for sharing.

Like seriously, why place the poor woman on anti-Koch despite d -ve tuberculin test, knowing dt ds drugs are potent to cause apparent 'wellness' within two weeks, hence Drs urge patients to keep taking d meds or even place them on DOTs so as not to decieve themselves! Ok,even if she's bn treated 4 1 month nd no improvement and no sign of M.tuberculosis, why continue for solid 4 months! I mean taking ingesting drugs is bad enough! 71. Hmmmm, dear poster, as I read your post, I thought I was actually the one who wrote it cos everything you just narrated is what I experienced. I would have called my sister now to ask her if she sent this in but I noticed the difference was in the illness your mom had which is different from my mom. It was so bad that my very agile mum became bedridden, all the hospital experiences u narrated are exactly what we faced, if not more sef. We were carrying her in stretchers frm one hospital to the other. Today strike, tomorrow no bed space, next tomorrow buy blood, pay for all sorts, I shake my head cos there is no way I will narrate that experience that will really explain Hw it was. My mother died many times. We carried her back home dead because the hospitals had given up. They cdnt do anything and her body started rejecting all treatments. At home nko, she lost her memory. She wud shout that we should leave her house. At night my sister and I would sit out in the cold, peeping through her Window until she has slept, then we will sneak in through the backdoor to sleep. In the morning we will pretend we have just come. Thing is, she didn't knw us again. She thought we were nurses taking care of her. When the hospital sent her back home, we used to do all the medicals for her, fix her drip, feed her, bath her, change her diapers...Yesso she started using diapers...oh my dear, its too long. but the thing is, somebody we brought home practically dead, it's at home she started walking, bathing herself, cooking, etc. She is still recovering cos she has a damaged oesophagus that needs surgery cos she can't eat, na money matter for that one. But God brought her back to life. She does everything now by herself. God is wonderful. I can't tell you that enough. God will perfect your mom and my mom's health. Everyone who is looking to God for one healing or the other, I pray that as he has done and is still doing for my mother, so much more will he do for u guys. Stay strong.
