The European Union has banned some food exports from Nigeria. Among the food items banned includes beans, sesame seeds, melon seeds, dried fish and meat, peanut chips and palm oil.
A statement from the European Food Safety Authority says the food substances were banned because they contained ‘a high level of unauthorized pesticide.’
Nigerian beans was banned because it contained between 0.03mg per kg to 4.6mg/kg of dichlorvos pesticide when the acceptable maximum residue limit is 0.01mg/kg. The ban on the food substances will expire in 2016.

Too bad
This is bad for Nigeria
As an agriculturist, it means we have to really work hard to be able to export crops like cocoa and groundnut like we do I the past
But cone to think of it if the other products we're banned cause of pesticide, why did they ban our palm oil
Is this US trying to frustrate us because we didn't accept the gay law?
Lol how about dogwalk
Dem go ban, so we too go unban everything dey ban. Nija no dey carry last
Likewise in the uk, a lot of nigerian foods come from other african and carribean countries.

What has gay rights have to do with palm oil!?!?!
But they export theirs to other continents. They can't stop God's people.
Hian, Is the palm oil containing pesticides or chemicals too........ Dem wan push us inside water.... We be tilapia, we go swim... We be garri, we go swell up....
U try
Eu. Not Us
But why are they using too much dichlorvos pesticide. This must be very bad to health. Government should look into this please.
And Asian marketers will tap into this gap to sell Nigerian food to us.... Sad -
They should stop to use dangerous chemicals
Even with the fall in oil prices and devaluation of Naira and now the ban of exporting food stuffs Nigeria will tell you God will help us. My take is God will not help you if you don't take the necessary steps in doing your path which is the right thing first like strengthening our institutions Education healthcare, diversifying the economic, tourism & infrastructure etc
